About This Job

Central Sanskrit University (CSU) has released notification for 16 contractual positions under its Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham (MSP), the Institute of Open and Distance Education. This includes 10 academic posts (Assistant Professors and Language Teachers) and 6 ICT/Technical Staff posts (Technical Managers, Technical Assistants, and Senior Consultant). Central Sanskrit University (CSU), Delhi, established by an Act of Parliament, is conducting online interviews for contractual engagement of teaching and technical staff at its Mukta Swadhyaya Peetham (MSP). This recruitment covers two categories under Advertisement No. 02/2025-2026: 10 Academic positions for Assistant Professors in Shastric disciplines like Vyakaranam, Jyotisham, Sahityam, and Vedanta, plus 1 Language Teacher for Sarala Manaka Samskritam (simple Sanskrit teaching), and 6 ICT positions for Technical Managers, Technical Assistants, and a Senior Consultant (Studio Expert). These are project-oriented roles related to the ODL and online programmes offered by MSP. Who Can Apply?

For Assistant Professors (Shastric Subjects)

  • Qualification: Acharya/M.A. (Sanskrit) or equivalent degree in the relevant discipline with at least 55% marks from a recognized university
  • NET/Ph.D: You need to have passed UGC/CSIR NET/SLET, or hold a Ph.D degree as per UGC regulations
  • Those who have submitted their thesis and are waiting for Ph.D viva-voce may also apply
  • You should be able to teach, write, and present Shastric topics in Sanskrit medium

For Assistant Professor (Sanskrit Journalism & Media)

  • Qualification: Post-Graduation in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks
  • Pass in NET in the relevant discipline, or Ph.D degree
  • Good communication skills in Sanskrit with experience in writing and presenting through Sanskrit medium

For Language Teacher (Sarala Manaka Samskritam)

  • Qualification: Graduation in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks
  • Shiksha-Shastri/NFSE/CSL Teachers' Training conducted by CSU or similar training by reputed Sanskrit organizations
  • Ability to prepare self-learning materials, teach in Sanskrit medium, and experience in teaching at Sambhashana-shibiras/NFSE/CSL centres

For Technical Managers

  • Qualification: MCA/BTech/B.E. (CS/IT), M.Sc./BSc. (Computer Science/IT), or PG Diploma in Software Technology from a reputed institution
  • OR: Acharya/Shastri/any Graduation from a recognized institution along with requisite computer/software skills
  • Experience: Working experience in industries, PSU/GOI projects, or private sector in areas like ODL systems, cloud services, software development, or database management
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of Sanskrit, experience with open-source technologies like Java, PHP, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB

For Technical Assistants

  • Qualification: MCA/BCA/B.E./BTech in Computer Science or IT from AICTE-approved or UGC-recognized institution
  • OR: Shastri/any Graduation with programming/software skills or Diploma in software technology
  • Desirable: Working knowledge of Sanskrit, experience in developing software/LMS, web designing skills (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)

For Sr. Consultant (Studio Expert)

  • Qualification: Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media Studies, Film & Television Production, Audio-Visual Production, or allied discipline
  • OR: Acharya/Shastri/any Graduation with requisite A/V studio production skills
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience at a senior level in Government, PSU, media organizations, broadcast studios, or educational institutions

Salary

  • Assistant Professor (Contract): Rs. 57,700/- per month + HRA + Special Hard Station DA (10%) + Annual Grant of Rs. 5,000 for books
  • Language Teacher (Contract): Rs. 55,000 to 65,000/- per month (Consolidated)
  • Technical Manager: Rs. 60,000 to 70,000/- per month (Consolidated)
  • Technical Assistant: Rs. 40,000 to 50,000/- per month (Consolidated)
  • Sr. Consultant (Studio Expert): Rs. 75,000 to 1,00,000/- per month or as recommended by the selection committee

Selection Process

Selection will be through a two-level online interview process:

  1. First Level - Online Test/Interview: Scrutinized candidates will be called for the first level online test and interview
  2. Second Level - Online/Offline Interview: Candidates selected through the first level will be called for a second level of online or offline interview
  3. Document Verification: All original certificates and documents will be verified before final selection

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned Shastric subjects and Sanskrit language through ODL and online systems
  • Prepare self-learning materials (SLMs) in print, electronic, and online media formats
  • Design course structures, unit plans, and curriculum for distance education programmes
  • Provide student counseling, study guidance, and academic support through online platforms
  • Develop and maintain LMS platforms, websites, and data management systems for MSP
  • Create e-content including animations, interactive videos, and multimedia learning resources
  • Manage admission, examination, feedback, and alumni management systems
  • Lead audio-video studio productions for academic and educational content creation

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Graduation/Acharya/M.A. (Sanskrit) with 55% marks or B.Tech/MCA/B.E. in CS/IT for technical posts

Preferred Qualification

UGC NET/Ph.D for teaching posts; Working knowledge of Sanskrit and open-source technologies for technical posts

Required Skills

Sanskrit teaching ability through ODL/online systems; LMS development; Audio-video editing; Web development (Java, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL); Computer proficiency
