Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research (JNCASR) is an autonomous institution under the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, and a Deemed-to-be-University based in Jakkur, Bengaluru, Karnataka. It has released Advertisement No. NCU-EMR-173 (dated 27 July 2026) for one Project Research Scientist I (Non-Medical) position. The post is sanctioned under an ICMR-sponsored project titled "Silk based materials/devices for prognosis and diagnosis of type 3 Diabetes Mellitus, Alzheimer's disease and their pathological nexus", led by Principal Investigator Prof. T Govindaraju at the New Chemistry Unit, JNCASR.

This is a great opportunity for PhD holders who want to work on interdisciplinary biomedical research combining materials science and disease diagnostics. You will get to work on a nationally funded ICMR project with strong publication potential, under the guidance of an experienced principal investigator.

Who Can Apply?

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 56,000 per month.
  • You will also get HRA (House Rent Allowance) as per JNCASR norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

JNCASR will select candidates in 2 stages:

  2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an online interview, and a selection committee will decide based on your performance.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on silk-based materials and devices for diagnosing Type 3 Diabetes Mellitus and Alzheimer's disease
  • Design and carry out laboratory experiments in chemical biology and biomaterials

  • Prepare research findings for publication in scientific journals
  • Collaborate with the Principal Investigator and project team members
