Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre (IN-SPACe), under the Department of Space, is engaging consultants and technical staff from the non-government sector. The assignments support space-sector strategy, the Chairman’s office, public communication, legal work and technical infrastructure. These are contractual engagements tied to defined assignments, with work based in Ahmedabad and Bengaluru.

• Principal Consultant, Strategy and Planning: Ahmedabad-based work on the Indian Space Economy’s Decadal Vision.
• Senior Consultant, Office of the Chairman: Ahmedabad-based support for the Chairman and organisational coordination.
• Senior Consultant, Public Relations and Media: Bengaluru-based institutional communication and outreach.
• Senior Consultant, Legal Directorate: Ahmedabad-based legal and regulatory advice for space activities.
• Technical Assistant, Technical Directorate: Ahmedabad-based assignments covering optical, electronic, radio-frequency, microwave and digital testing, and climatic and thermo-vacuum testing.
• Junior Consultant, Technical Directorate: Ahmedabad-based technical project and scheme support.

Post-wise Duties

Principal Consultant

You will turn the Decadal Vision into sector-specific roadmaps, coordinate with government, industry and academic partners, and track progress. Reports and recommendations should identify implementation gaps and the actions needed to address them.

Senior Consultant, Office of the Chairman

You will support board meetings and strategic communication through agendas, research inputs, presentations and correspondence. The assignment also connects annual goals with the organisation’s wider mandate.

Senior Consultant, Public Relations and Media

You will plan publicity campaigns and media outreach, prepare press material and support exhibitions and visits. Media coverage reports help the organisation understand campaign reach and public response.

Senior Consultant, Legal Directorate

You will examine space-activity authorisation proposals, draft legal instruments and advise on regulatory or contractual questions. The role also covers disputes, litigation coordination and review of agreements and legal filings.

Technical Assistants

You will prepare test setups for the relevant laboratory assignment, carry out testing and keep equipment calibrated. Work also includes test records, technical specifications and procurement support for laboratory equipment.

Junior Consultant

You will prepare technical project reports and proposal documents for schemes involving satellites, payloads, launch vehicles and ground infrastructure. You will also follow up schedules, prepare presentations and coordinate reviews with stakeholders.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The initial engagement can last up to two years. Extensions may be granted one year at a time, up to a total of five years, depending on performance, work needs and the applicable guidelines.
• Appointment status: The engagement gives you no right to a regular appointment.
• Travel: The Chairman’s Office assignment includes travel within India with the Chairman when needed.
• Interaction expenses: Travel and daily allowance for attending an interaction or interview are not payable unless IN-SPACe specifically says otherwise.
• Professional obligations: The declaration commits you to confidentiality and avoiding conflicts of interest during and after the engagement.
• Recruitment discretion: IN-SPACe may reject applications or change or cancel the engagement exercise. Meeting the minimum conditions does not guarantee shortlisting.
