Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract period: the initial appointment runs for one year. Extensions can take the total engagement up to three years, depending on satisfactory performance and approval.
• Early closure: the contract can end when a regular appointee joins. Either side may also end the engagement with one month's notice.
• No regular appointment claim: working under this contract does not give you a right to permanent absorption in ESIC.
• Private practice: you cannot carry on private practice during the engagement.
• Security deposit: a cadre-specific caution deposit is due on joining. It is refundable after you complete the contract and provide a no-dues certificate; leaving within six months can lead to forfeiture towards administrative costs.
• Unauthorised absence: an absence exceeding 15 days without permission is treated as abandonment. The notice provides for termination without notice and forfeiture of the security deposit.
• Joining arrangements: you must sign a contractual agreement and hold a State Bank of India savings account. You must also accept the offer in writing and join within the period stated in it.
• Attendance and dress: the college expects both manual and Aadhaar-enabled biometric attendance on working days. You must wear your own white coat and name badge while on duty.
• Travel costs: ESIC will not pay travel or daily allowance for attending the interview or joining.
• Reservation: central government rules apply, including the prevailing disability-reservation guidelines. The notice allows panel-based filling where reserved-category candidates are unavailable because the hospital must maintain essential services.
• Multiple cadres: use separate applications and the applicable separate payment when seeking more than one cadre. If you apply for a higher post, you may opt for a lower post in the same department during the interview.
• Provisional position: vacancy numbers can change without separate intimation, and ESIC can cancel the process. The approved waiting list remains valid for two months from publication of the result.
• Leave wording: the notice broadly excludes claims to service benefits but separately permits earned and half-pay leave under the cited temporary-government-servant rules. Check the appointment terms for how this provision applies to you.
