Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh Guest Faculty Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Panjab University (PU) Chandigarh, through its Centre for Nuclear Medicine at the University Institute for Emerging Areas in Science and Technology (UIEAST), has invited applications for 1 Guest Faculty position. You will teach Radiation Physics and Applied Mathematics and Radiation Detection and Measurements to M.Sc. Nuclear Medicine students, Monday to Friday, for the odd semester of the 2026-27 academic session. No written exam is required — selection is through an interview whose date will be intimated by email once your application is reviewed, so there is no separate screening test before that stage. This role suits candidates with a strong academic background in Nuclear Medicine or Physics who enjoy teaching and want experience at a reputed university-run specialised centre.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: M.Sc. in Nuclear Medicine or Physics from a recognized Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Marks Required: At least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/Physically & Visually Handicapped candidates) or an equivalent grade where a grading system is followed.
• Eligibility Test: You must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC or CSIR) or hold a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject. Ph.D. holders (awarded as per UGC 2009 Regulations) are exempt from the NET requirement, so if you already have a doctorate you do not need a separate NET score to apply.

Salary

• You will be paid a token honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, up to a monthly limit of Rs. 50,000 — your actual pay depends on how many lectures you take that month.
• You cannot draw any other fellowship, stipend or financial assistance while working as Guest Faculty; you will need to give a written undertaking to this effect.
• Candidates already receiving JRF scholarships from the University are not entitled to this honorarium, but they will get an experience certificate for their Guest Faculty work if selected.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a personal interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates and other relevant documents for verification.
2. Interview: The date and time will be shared with eligible candidates by email after your application is screened.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
