Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh has invited applications for 2 Guest Faculty positions at its Centre for Medical Physics, Block-III, South Campus, Sector-25. The Centre functions under the University Institute of Emerging Areas in Science and Technology (UIEAST). These are temporary teaching positions for the odd semester of the 2026-27 academic session, so you will be engaged only for that semester rather than on a permanent or long-term basis. No written exam is required — selection is done directly through a personal interview, so if you clear the eligibility criteria you go straight to the interview stage without any screening test. This is a good opportunity for candidates with a strong academic background in Medical Physics or Physics who want teaching exposure at a reputed central university, and it can also serve as valuable experience while you continue to look for a permanent teaching or research role.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree (M.Sc.) in Medical Physics or Physics, with Nuclear Physics or Radiation Physics, from a recognized Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• Marks Required: At least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/Physically & Visually Handicapped candidates) or an equivalent grade where a grading system is followed.
• Eligibility Test: You must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC/CSIR) or hold a Ph.D. degree in the relevant subject. NET is not required for disciplines where it is not conducted. This means Ph.D. holders can apply directly without a separate NET qualification, while Master's-only candidates must have a valid NET score.

Salary

• You will be paid a token honorarium of Rs. 1,500 per lecture, with an upper limit of Rs. 50,000 per month — so your actual monthly pay depends on the number of lectures you take.
• You cannot draw any other fellowship, stipend or financial assistance from any agency while working as Guest Faculty at the Centre; you will need to give a written undertaking to this effect.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done through a personal interview:

1. Document Verification: Bring your original certificates and other relevant documents for verification.
2. Interview: Held in person before the selection committee at the Centre for Medical Physics.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
