Central Sanskrit University, established by an Act of Parliament in 2020 and headquartered in Janakpuri, New Delhi, has released Advertisement No. 05/2026 for the engagement of full-time faculty on a contractual basis in the Department of Indian Jurisprudence at its Jaipur Campus, in compliance with Bar Council of India rules of legal education, 2008. Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade on a point scale) in a subject relevant to the post you're applying for (Law or Dharamshastra), from a recognized Indian university, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.
• NET/SLET/SET: You must have cleared NET (conducted by UGC or CSIR) or an equivalent UGC-accredited test like SLET/SET, unless exempted for holding a Ph.D. awarded under UGC 2009 or 2016 regulations. The exemption requires your Ph.D. to be awarded in regular mode, evaluated by at least two external examiners, include an open viva voce, and that you've published at least two research papers (one in a refereed journal) plus presented two papers at UGC/ICSSR/CSIR-supported conferences.
• Note: NET/SLET/SET is not required for Master's programmes in disciplines for which UGC, CSIR, or a similar UGC-accredited body does not conduct these tests.
• Alternative for Foreign Ph.D. Holders: A Ph.D. from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 of the QS, THE, or ARWU World University Rankings also qualifies you, without needing NET/SLET/SET.

Salary

• Selected candidates get Rs. 57,700 per month plus HRA for both Assistant Professor (Law) and Assistant Professor (Dharamshastra) posts.
• The engagement is initially for 11 months on a contractual basis. You will not be entitled to confirmation, LTC, medical reimbursement, pension, or other facilities admissible to regular University employees.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on screening of applications followed by an interview:

1. Screening of Applications: Eligible candidates are shortlisted based on their online application. The University reserves the right to reject any application without assigning a reason.
2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates must appear for an online interview on 8 August 2026. The schedule will be posted on the CSU website under the "Recruitment" tab, and you'll also be informed through your registered email — so check your inbox and spam folder regularly. The University may conduct a second round of test/interview if required, and its decision in this regard is final.
3. Document Verification: Your original documents for qualification, age, experience, and category are verified before final engagement. Reservation benefits and age relaxation apply to eligible reserved-category candidates as per CSU/Government of India rules.

If you are currently employed, you must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer at the time of document verification. No TA/DA is paid for attending the test or interview, and the engagement can be terminated by the University at any time without assigning a reason. There is no claim for regularization, continuation, or seniority based on this contractual engagement, and any false or misleading information in your application will lead to rejection or cancellation at any stage. In case of any dispute, the decision of the Vice-Chancellor, CSU, is final and binding.
