CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM) Project Associate & Consultant Recruitment 2026 - 10 Posts

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, has released Project Advertisement No. 16/2026 for 10 temporary, project-based positions under its ULIP project "Prospecting Biodiversity for Drug Discovery and Sustainable Development (IIIM-BD)". Seven posts are for Project Associate-I across chemistry, pharmaceutical, engineering, and botany disciplines, tenable at CSIR-IIIM Jammu and its Branch Lab in Srinagar, while three posts are senior Consultant roles in Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, and Research & Development. Selection is entirely through walk-in interview — there is no written exam or online application process. These positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project, which is currently sanctioned till 31 March 2027 and may be extended based on project continuation and your performance. Your total engagement across all CSIR laboratories, including this one, cannot exceed 6 years, and selection here does not entitle you to any claim for absorption into a permanent CSIR post.

Who Can Apply?

For Project Associate-I Posts (Rs. 25,000-31,000/month):

• M.Sc./M.Pharm./M.S. in Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, or Natural Products Chemistry (PA-01, PA-02), OR
• B.E./B.Tech in Chemical, Biochemical, or Bioprocess Engineering (PA-03), OR
• M.Sc. in Botany, Plant Taxonomy, or Biodiversity (PA-04, Srinagar)
• 2 years of relevant research/working experience is desirable but not mandatory

For Consultant Posts (Rs. 1,00,000/month Fixed):

• M.Sc./Ph.D. in Life Sciences or Pharmaceutical Sciences with a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry/research experience
• Preference is given to retired scientists/government officials for the Regulatory Affairs and R&D consultant posts

Age Limit

• Project Associate-I posts: up to 35 years
• Consultant posts: up to 65 years
• Your age will be calculated as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Project Associate-I: Rs. 31,000 per month if you qualify CSIR-UGC/ICAR/ICMR NET or GATE (or an equivalent national-level exam), otherwise Rs. 25,000 per month, plus HRA if institute accommodation is not provided.
• Consultant posts (Business Development, Regulatory Affairs, R&D): a fixed Rs. 1,00,000 per month.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

CSIR-IIIM will select candidates purely through interview:

1. Walk-In Interview: Attend directly with your documents — no prior registration required.
2. Screening: If a large number of candidates apply, the Screening Committee may revisit shortlisting criteria.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates, including educational qualification, date of birth, category, and age relaxation proof, will be verified before final selection.

You can respond to the Selection Committee in English or Hindi. No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview, and any form of canvassing will disqualify your candidature. The number of positions on offer may vary depending on project requirements at the time of interview, and the Director, CSIR-IIIM, reserves the right not to fill any or all of the advertised posts.

• Conduct laboratory research on natural product extraction, isolation, and characterization using HPLC, TLC, NMR, and FTIR techniques
• Support quality control and quality assurance activities, including analytical method development and validation
• Operate and maintain fermentation equipment and pilot plant/bioreactor systems as per cGMP norms
• Conduct botanical field surveys and maintain medicinal and aromatic plant collections at CSIR-IIIM farms
• Facilitate partnerships between academia, industry, and government for research and talent development
• Guide molecules and leads through the regulatory approval process in line with national and international guidelines
• Lead R&D initiatives and design experiments for natural product-based drug discovery
