CSIR-Centre for Cellular and Molecular Biology, Hyderabad (CSIR-CCMB) is a premier research institute under the Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. Advertisement No. 03/2026 invites applications for Technical Support Staff posts across three trade categories — Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant), Computer Operator and Programming Assistant, and Food Production/Patisserie — along with one Driver post. Two posts of Technician (1) are reserved for Ex-Servicemen.

Who Can Apply?

For Technician (1) - TE-01 (Laboratory Assistant - Chemical Plant)

• SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects (minimum 55% marks) AND ITI certificate or National/State trade certificate in Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant); OR
• SSC/10th with Science (55%) + 2 years full-time apprenticeship in the same trade; OR
• SSC/10th with Science (55%) + 3 years work experience in the trade under Govt./PSU/Autonomous Body

For Technician (1) - TE-02 (Computer Operator & Programming Assistant)

• SSC/10th Standard with Science (55%) + ITI in Computer Operator and Programming Assistant; OR
• 2 years full-time apprenticeship; OR
• 3 years work experience in the trade

For Technician (1) - TE-03 (Food Production / Patisserie)

• SSC/10th Standard with Science (55%) + ITI in Food Production / Food Production & Patisserie; OR
• 2 years full-time apprenticeship; OR
• 3 years work experience in the trade

For Driver (D-01)

• Pass in 10th standard
• Valid driving licence for LMV and HMV
• Knowledge of motor mechanism (should be able to remove minor defects)
• 3 years driving experience (acquired after obtaining the valid driving licence)
• The Driver post is not identified suitable for PwBD candidates.

Age Limit (as on 26.05.2026)

• Technician (1) / Gr. II (1): Up to 28 years
• Driver: Up to 27 years
• Minimum age: 18 years
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST - 5 years; OBC (NCL) - 3 years; PwBD (UR/EWS) - 10 years; PwBD (OBC) - 13 years; PwBD (SC/ST) - 15 years; Ex-Servicemen - as per GoI rules; Widows/Divorced Women - up to 35 years (UR/OBC/EWS) or 40 years (SC/ST); CSIR/Govt. regular employees with 3+ years' continuous service - 5 years

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level-2 as per 7th CPC
• Total approximate emoluments: Rs. 39,970 per month (on minimum of scale, including admissible allowances)
• You also get Dearness Allowance (DA), House Rent Allowance (HRA), Transport Allowance (TA), Medical Expenses Reimbursement, Leave Travel Concession, Children's Education Allowance, and other benefits as per CSIR/Govt. of India rules
• All new entrants will be governed by the National Pension System (NPS)

Selection Process

For Technician (1) / Gr. II (1)

1. Stage I - Trade Test: Conducted by Selection Committee in the relevant trade subjects to evaluate your suitability.
2. Stage II - Competitive Written Examination: OMR or Computer Based Objective MCQ test (SSC + ITI / XII standard), total 150 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes, in English and Hindi.
   • Paper-I (1 Hour, no negative marking): Mental Ability Test - 50 questions for 100 marks (2 marks each)
   • Paper-II (30 minutes): General Awareness (25 Qs, 75 marks) and English Language (25 Qs, 75 marks) - 1 negative mark per wrong answer
   • Paper-III (1 Hour): Concerned Subject - 50 questions for 150 marks - 1 negative mark per wrong answer

Paper-II and Paper-III will be evaluated only for candidates who score minimum threshold marks in Paper-I. Final merit will be based on Paper-II and Paper-III marks only.

For Driver

1. Stage I - Skill Test (qualifying): Practical driving skill test
2. Stage II - Competitive Written Examination: OMR/CBT objective test, Class X standard, 100 questions in 90 minutes, in English and Hindi.
   • General Intelligence: 25 Qs (75 marks)
   • Quantitative Aptitude: 25 Qs (75 marks)
   • General Awareness: 25 Qs (75 marks)
   • English Language: 25 Qs (75 marks)
   • 1 negative mark for every wrong answer

3. Pay the application fee of Rs. 500 via State Bank Collect (SB Collect) and note down the transaction/UTR number.
4. Submit the form by 26 May 2026 (11:59 PM).
5. Take a printout of the completed online application, sign it, and attach self-attested copies of all supporting documents (10th certificate, ITI certificate, caste/category certificate, driving licence for Driver post, etc.).
