It has released Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated 21.05.2026 to fill 8 Technical Officer posts (Group-III) and 14 Technician (1) posts (Group-II). Technical Officer (Pay Level 7)
- TO-1 (Physics/Electronics): B.E./B.Tech or equivalent in Electronics / Electronics & Instrumentation / Electronics & Communication / Electrical & Electronics Engineering with minimum 55% marks. OR M.Sc. in Physics / Electronics / Applied Electronics with 55% marks.
- TO-2 (Computer Science): B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc in Computer Science with 55% marks. OR MCA (including Integrated MCA) with 55% marks.
Technician (1) — Pay Level 2
- Educational Qualification: SSC/10th Standard with Science subjects and minimum 55% marks.
- Plus one of: ITI certificate or National/State trade certificate in the relevant trade OR 2 years full-time experience as an apprentice trainee OR 3 years of work experience in the relevant trade in a Ministry/Department/PSU/Autonomous Body under Govt of India/State/UT.
- Trades: Electronic Mechanics (TECH-1), Electrician/Wireman/Electrical Fitter (TECH-2), Mason (TECH-3), Draughtsman Civil (TECH-4)
Age Limit
- Technical Officer: 18 to 30 years
- Technician (1): 18 to 28 years

- Technical Officer: Pay Level 7, Rs. 44,900 - Rs. 1,42,400. Total emoluments approx. Rs. 89,268 per month at minimum of scale (including HRA)
- Technician (1): Pay Level 2, Rs. 19,900 - Rs. 63,200. Total emoluments approx. Rs. 39,728 per month at minimum of scale (including HRA)
- Plus DA, HRA, Transport Allowance and other allowances as per Central Government / CSIR rules
- Other benefits: medical reimbursement, LTC, Conveyance Advance, House Building Advance, and NPS (National Pension System) coverage

Selection Process
Selection is in three sequential stages:
- Screening of Applications: The Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on its own criteria from online applications.
- Trade Test (Qualifying): Shortlisted candidates will appear for a Trade Test in the relevant trade. This is qualifying in nature only.
- Competitive Written Examination: Candidates who qualify the Trade Test will appear for the OMR / computer-based written exam. 200 questions in 3 hours for Technical Officer; 150 questions in 2 hours 30 minutes for Technician.
Final merit list is prepared based on marks in Paper-II and Paper-III only (Paper-I is qualifying).

Responsibilities
- Support electronics assembly, circuit design and semiconductor/microwave equipment operation (Technical Officer Physics/Electronics)
- Handle project monitoring, data analysis, web portal management and procurement (Technical Officer Computer Science)
- Assist in laboratory maintenance, soldering, circuit assembly and measurement (Technician Electronic Mechanics)
- Carry out electrical wiring, repair and maintenance work in the institute (Technician Electrician)
- Assist in civil masonry works such as construction and repair (Technician Mason)
- Prepare civil drawings, layouts and other technical drawings (Technician Draughtsman Civil)
- Support ongoing R&D projects and field work in different parts of the country when required
