CSIR AMPRI Multi Post Recruitment 2026: Overview

CSIR Advanced Materials and Processes Research Institute (CSIR-AMPRI), Bhopal, is hiring technical and support staff under its combined recruitment notice. The institute is part of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research under the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology. Its work focuses on advanced materials research and technology development, with this drive covering laboratory, workshop, computing, security and campus support roles.

Posts and Disciplines

  • Technical Officer: Materials characterisation, information technology, chemistry, mechanical and metallurgical engineering, and electronics and instrumentation are separate streams.
  • Technician: Instrument Mechanic, Fitter, Machinist and Laboratory Assistant (Chemical Plant) are the advertised trades.
  • Security Officer and Security Assistant: These roles support security across the institute’s office, residential and guest-house premises.
  • Multi-Tasking Staff: The role combines office support with hospitality, horticulture and transport-related work.

Post-wise Duties

Technical Officer

Your work depends on the stream you join. You may manage materials testing, chemical analysis, pilot-scale machinery or electronic instrumentation, while the computing stream supports servers, networks, databases, internal applications and cyber security.

Technician

You will support laboratory instruments or workshop operations in your trade. Work ranges from equipment servicing and fabrication to machining components, preparing laboratory solutions and maintaining test records.

Security Officer and Security Assistant

The Security Officer oversees access control, vigilance, fire safety, staff supervision and coordination with local police. The Security Assistant handles daily security operations, patrols, registers and emergency-drill support.

Multi-Tasking Staff

You will help with records, photocopying, dispatch, guest-house support and garden upkeep. Transport work includes vehicle records, maintenance support and driving where the required licence is held.

Service Conditions and Caveats

  • Posting and transfers: Your initial posting is at CSIR-AMPRI. You can later be transferred to CSIR laboratories, institutes, centres or field stations elsewhere in India.
  • Work schedules: Security and MTS staff may work nights, holidays and beyond normal office hours when the institute needs them.
  • Probation: Confirmation follows successful completion of probation under the applicable rules. The competent authority can extend or shorten the probation period.
  • Anticipated posts: The Machinist and Laboratory Assistant posts depend on the existing staff retiring. Appointment offers will follow only after those vacancies actually arise. Selection does not create a claim to earlier appointment or benefits.
  • Recruitment updates: Check the institute’s website for notices and amendments. The institute says it will not send individual updates.
  • Application choices: You can apply for more than one post code if you meet each post’s conditions. The recruitment page requires separate registration for different post categories, and each post code needs its own completed application.

Responsibilities

  • Operate materials characterisation and analytical instruments in the relevant technical stream.
  • Manage servers, networks, databases and data backups in the IT stream.
  • Maintain workshop machinery and fabricate components in the relevant trade.
  • Prepare laboratory solutions and record chemical testing observations.
