Who Can Apply?
For Staff Car Driver:
- You must have passed Class 10th from a recognized board.
- You need a valid Transport (Commercial) Driving License and experience driving all types of vehicles.
- Skilled and trained mechanics will be given preference.
For Lift Man:
- You must have passed Class 12th from a recognized board.
- You need to be trained in wiring/electrician work from a Government-recognized ITI.
- Candidates with knowledge and experience of lift operation will be preferred.
For Contingency Paid Employee (Safai Karmachari, Cook, Mali, Chowkidar, Electrician, Plumber, Driver, Pantry Staff, Pump Attendant):
- You must have passed Class 8th from a recognized board/school.
- Candidates with a qualification higher than Class 8th will NOT be considered for this post.
Reservation for SC/ST/OBC and women candidates applies only to genuine local (domicile) residents of Chhattisgarh.
Age Limit
- You should be between 18 and 30 years old as on 01 January 2026.
- For genuine Chhattisgarh domicile candidates, the upper age limit goes up to 40 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST/OBC (Chhattisgarh domicile) get 5 years extra; women candidates (Chhattisgarh domicile only) get 10 years extra; regular or temporary government employees get an additional 5 years on top of other relaxations.
- In no case shall the maximum age exceed 45 years.
Salary
- Staff Car Driver and Lift Man posts carry a salary of Rs. 19,500 to Rs. 62,000 per month under Pay Level 4 of the 7th Pay Commission.
- Contingency Paid Employee posts are paid a daily wage fixed by the Collector, Bilaspur from time to time.
- You will also get DA, HRA and other allowances as per Chhattisgarh government rules.
Selection Process
Selection for Staff Car Driver and Lift Man will be done in 2 stages:
- Written Exam: 100 marks. For Driver, questions come from the Motor Vehicle Act; for Lift Man, questions cover wiring, electrician work, and lift operation/maintenance. You need at least 33% marks to qualify for the next stage.
- Practical Exam: 100 marks. You need a minimum of 40 marks to pass, or you will be declared unfit for the post.
Bonus marks are also given: Driver candidates holding a certified skilled mechanic certificate (four-wheeler/heavy vehicle) get 5 extra marks. Lift Man candidates with a lift operation knowledge/experience certificate get 10 extra marks.
For Contingency Paid Employee posts, selection is through a Skill Test relevant to your specific trade (cook, mali, electrician, plumber, driver, etc.), and the merit list is based on marks scored in that test.
If more than 100 times the number of vacancies apply for a post, the High Court may do an initial screening based on your marks in the qualifying exam (8th/10th/12th) or on qualification and experience. No travel allowance is given for appearing in the exam.

- Drive court vehicles safely and keep daily travel logs (Staff Car Driver)
- Operate and maintain the lift, and attend to minor wiring or electrical faults (Lift Man)
- Handle cleaning, cooking, gardening, security, plumbing, or pantry duties as assigned (Contingency Paid Employee)
- Keep assigned equipment and work areas clean and in good condition
- Report any breakdown or safety issue to the concerned officer right away
- Follow High Court rules, discipline, and duty timings
- Assist court staff and visitors as required during working hours
