IPRCL Sr Manager Projects Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Port Rail and Ropeway Corporation Limited (IPRCL) is hiring Senior Managers (Projects) for its project sites at Korba in Chhattisgarh and Kolkata in West Bengal. IPRCL is a joint venture of India's major ports and Rail Vikas Nigam Limited, run under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, and it builds the rail links that carry cargo to and from the major ports.

These openings are meant for retired officers, not fresh candidates. If you retired on superannuation or took voluntary retirement (VR) from the Railways, another government department, a central PSU, a port or a government-controlled joint venture, you can put your project experience to use here. You join on a one-year re-employment contract, which IPRCL can extend if your work is good and the company still needs you.

The circular is clear about the background it wants. You should have hands-on experience in railway track work, underground or elevated metro projects, railway projects, multistoried building projects, or railway maintenance and operations. A CV that shows real site and execution work in these areas will count most when IPRCL shortlists applicants.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Place of posting: The posts are split between Korba and Kolkata. The application form asks for the place of posting you are applying for, so name it clearly.
• Grade at retirement: Eligibility depends on the regular grade you retired in, under either the CDA or the IDA pay pattern. Any higher grade pay or scale you got through ACP, MACP or NF upgrades is ignored.
• Contract terms: The job is an annual contract on re-employment, extended year by year based on your performance and IPRCL's needs.
• Cut-off for eligibility: Your age, experience and other conditions are checked as on the last date for receiving applications.
• Shortlisting: If IPRCL gets five or more eligible applicants per vacancy, it can call candidates for interview in a 1:5 ratio based on their relevant experience.
• Service rules: Your appointment follows the IPRCL Service and Conduct, Discipline and Appeal Rules, as amended from time to time.
• Changes to the circular: IPRCL can raise or change the eligibility criteria, change the number of posts, or cancel the circular in full or in part. All updates appear only on the IPRCL website, so check it regularly.
• Wrong information: If any detail or certificate turns out to be false, or you are found ineligible at any stage, your candidature is cancelled — even after appointment, your service can be ended.
• Other rules: Only Indian citizens can apply, canvassing in any form disqualifies you, requests to change your address or interview centre are not accepted, and any dispute goes only to the courts in Mumbai.

There is no online form for this post. Fill the application format given in Annexure-I of the circular, paste a recent passport-size photograph, and attach a detailed CV with self-attested photocopies of your certificates. Do not send originals — IPRCL will not take responsibility for them.

The closing date is for receipt at the IPRCL office, not for posting. Late, incomplete or wrong-format applications, and those without self-attested enclosures, are rejected, and IPRCL takes no blame for postal delays — so send yours early.
