Who Can Apply?

Route A — Master's Degree + NET/SLET/SET

  • Qualification: You need a Master's degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade on a point-scale) in the relevant subject from a recognised Indian university or an accredited foreign university.
  • Plus: You must have cleared NET conducted by UGC or CSIR, or a similar test like SLET/SET accredited by UGC.
  • Relaxation for SC/ST: The minimum marks requirement is relaxed to 50% at both Master's and Bachelor's level for ST/SC candidates.

Route B — Ph.D Holders (Exempt from NET/SLET/SET)

  • If you hold a Ph.D degree awarded in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D Degree) Regulations 2009 or 2016 and their amendments, you are exempt from the NET/SLET/SET requirement.
  • Candidates who registered for Ph.D before 11 July 2009 are governed by the regulations of the institution that awarded the degree, subject to conditions like regular-mode award, external evaluation, open viva-voce, and 2 published research papers.

Route C — Foreign Ph.D

  • Ph.D from a foreign university ranked in the top 500 of QS, THE, or ARWU world rankings at any time.

NET/SLET/SET is not required for disciplines where no such test is conducted by UGC, CSIR, or similar accredited bodies.

Age Limit

  • You should be up to 30 years old.
  • ST/SC candidates: Up to 35 years (5 years relaxation).
  • APST candidates: Up to 37 years (additional 5 years relaxation beyond the upper age limit, totalling 7 years from the base).
  • PwBD and regular Govt. servants: Age concession as per Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh rules.

The upper age limit is in accordance with "Assistant Professor for Government Colleges of Arunachal Pradesh" Group 'A' Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) Recruitment Rules 2024.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a salary in Pay Matrix Level-10, ranging from Rs. 57,700 to Rs. 1,82,400 per month.
  • This is a Group-A Gazetted (Non-Ministerial) post.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Arunachal Pradesh Government rules.

  • Other candidates (General/OBC/EWS): Rs. 200

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on academic merit scoring and interview only. There is no written exam for this recruitment:

  1. Academic Merit Screening: A Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on the Academic Score as specified in Appendix-II (Table 3B) of UGC Regulations, 2018 for College-level positions. Eligible candidates will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3 (subject to availability).
  2. Viva-voce / Interview (100 marks): The total marks for interview is 100. You need a minimum of 50% marks (50 out of 100) in the interview to qualify for selection.
  3. Document Verification: You must produce all original certificates and documents at the time of interview.
  4. Medical Examination: The appointing authority conducts a medical test and verifies character and antecedents before final appointment.

  2. Complete your One Time Registration (OTR) if you are a new user. If already registered, log in with your existing user ID and password.
  3. Fill in the online application form with all required details.

Academic Merit Screening
