Nagaland University is hiring 13 Non-Teaching staff across officer, technical, and support posts on a regular basis. Nagaland University (a Central University established by an Act of Parliament No. 35 of 1989) has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 for filling up 13 Non-Teaching posts. These include 4 senior officer posts (Finance Officer, Internal Audit Officer, Deputy Registrar, Assistant Librarian), 1 Nursing Officer, 5 technical posts (Junior Engineer Civil and 4 Senior Technical Assistants), and 3 support posts (Fieldman, Work Assistant Civil, Bus/Truck Conductor). Who Can Apply?

Finance Officer (Age limit: 56 years)

• Master's Degree with at least 55% marks (or grade B in UGC 7-point scale)
• At least 15 years of experience as Assistant Professor in Academic Level 11 and above, or 8 years in Academic Level 12 and above including Associate Professor with experience in educational administration OR
• Comparable experience in research establishment/other institutions of higher education OR
• 15 years administrative experience, of which 8 years as Deputy Registrar or equivalent post

Internal Audit Officer (Age limit: 45 years)

• All India Organised Audit and Accounts Services Officer with 3 years experience OR
• Qualified CA / ICWA or SAS-qualified officers with 8 years service in the next-below cadre OR
• Officers with 8 years service as Assistant Finance Officer / Account Officer with audit/accounts experience

Deputy Registrar (Age limit: 50 years)

• Master's degree with at least 55% marks (or grade B equivalent)
• 9 years experience as Assistant Professor in Academic Level 10 and above with educational administration experience OR
• Comparable experience in research/other higher education institutions OR
• 5 years administrative experience as Assistant Registrar or equivalent
• Desirable: Experience in Establishment, financial administration, or conduct of university examinations

Assistant Librarian (Age limit: 35 years)

• Master's degree in Lib.Sc / Info.Sc / Documentation with at least 55% marks plus good academic record and experience in library computerisation
• Qualified in UGC NET or equivalent, or Ph.D. as per UGC regulations

Nursing Officer (Age limit: 30 years)

• B.Sc. (Nursing) or B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognised university
• Must be registered with Indian Nursing Council / State Nursing Council
• 2 years relevant experience in a Government Hospital or Government-recognised Hospital

Junior Engineer (Civil) (Age limit: 28 years)

• Three years Diploma in Civil Engineering from a recognised Institution/University
• Desirable: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, knowledge of AutoCAD

Senior Technical Assistant (4 posts) (Age limit: 28 years)

• Master's degree in the relevant subject (Agricultural Extension Education / Livestock Production & Management / Botany / Horticulture)
• At least 2 years experience in the relevant field

Fieldman (Age limit: 28 years)

• 10+2 (Science) with 3 years experience in the relevant field

Work Assistant (Civil) (Age limit: 28 years)

• HSLC (Class 10) with a relevant ITI certificate, plus knowledge and experience in civil construction works
• Desirable: 3 years work experience in the relevant field

Bus/Truck Conductor (Age limit: 28 years)

• HSLC (Class 10)
• Desirable: Valid driving licence for Light/Medium/Heavy Passenger motor vehicle or ITI certificate in Auto Electrician/Mechanic

Age Limit

• Age limit varies by post — from 28 years (technical/support posts) up to 56 years (Finance Officer).
• The crucial date for age is the closing date of online application — 13 June 2026.
• Age relaxation applies to SC / ST / OBC / EWS / PwD as per Government of India rules. You must submit proper certificates while claiming relaxation.
• The upper age limit does not apply to candidates already working in the University, but not to those working on projects.

Salary

• Salary is paid as per the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix. The range across all 13 posts is Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month depending on the pay level.

Selection Process

The mode of recruitment differs by post:

1. Interview only — for Finance Officer, Internal Audit Officer, Deputy Registrar, and Assistant Librarian. The Screening Committee may shortlist candidates based on qualification and experience before the interview.
2. Written Examination — for Nursing Officer, Junior Engineer (Civil), all 4 Senior Technical Assistants, Fieldman, Work Assistant (Civil), and Bus/Truck Conductor.
3. Document Verification — all shortlisted candidates must produce original certificates at the time of interview or written examination.

Persons already working under Central/State Government must apply through proper channel and produce No Objection Certificate and Vigilance Clearance Certificate at the time of interview/written exam.
