AIIMS Nagpur, an apex healthcare institute set up by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY), has released a notification to engage 1 Assistant Engineer (Civil) in its Engineering Department on contractual basis, through advertisement number AIIMS/NGP/RECT/CONT/AE(CIVIL)/26/09/2538 dated 13 August 2026. The contract runs for 11 months, or until a regular appointment is made — whichever is earlier — and does not lead to a regular position at any stage. This role suits experienced civil engineers who have worked on hospital or institutional building projects. AIIMS Nagpur works to correct regional imbalances in tertiary-level healthcare and to build self-sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education across the region, and its Engineering Department keeps this large hospital campus running smoothly.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Graduate in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• Experience: You need at least 5 years of experience in design and engineering of civil projects — experience in a hospital environment is preferred.
• Nationality: Indian Nationals only.
• NOC: If you already work in a Central/State Government, Semi-Government, or Autonomous body, bring a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview.
• Documents: Bring all your original certificates for verification when called for interview — meeting the minimum qualification alone does not guarantee an interview call or selection.

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 35 years, counted as on the last date of submission of application (28 August 2026).
• All your qualifications and experience are also counted as on the last date of submission of application.

Salary

• You get a consolidated salary of Rs. 67,350 per month — there is no enhancement during the 11-month contract period.
• This is a purely contractual role — you won't get benefits like Provident Fund, Pension, Gratuity, Medical Attendance, or Seniority that apply to regular AIIMS employees.

Selection Process

Selection happens in these stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on your educational qualification and relevant experience. If AIIMS Nagpur gets a large number of applications, a screening test may be held to shortlist candidates for interview.
2. Document Verification: A committee checks your qualification, experience, category, and age documents before the interview.
3. Interview: Held at AIIMS Nagpur — no TA/DA is paid for attending. Bring your original documents; you'll be informed of the date and venue through the contact details in your application.

Note: Private practice of any kind is not allowed once you join, and canvassing for selection will get you disqualified.

• The appointment can be terminated by either side with one month's notice, or by paying one month's salary in lieu of notice.
• If you resign or leave within the first 3 months of joining, you won't be issued a Relieving Letter, Experience Certificate, or No Objection Certificate.
• AIIMS Nagpur can increase or decrease the number of vacancies at its discretion, and reservation follows the roster set by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
• You should not have any pending conviction by a Court of Law.
