AIIMS Delhi Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is hiring a Scientific Administrative Assistant / Field Worker for a research project in its Department of Biochemistry. The project studies whether Clonal Hematopoiesis of Indeterminate Potential (CHIP) raises the risk of premature atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (Premature-ASCVD) — in simple words, whether certain blood-cell changes make heart disease strike people earlier in life.

The study is funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, and run by Dr. Karthikeyan P, Assistant Professor of Biochemistry. The job mixes field work and lab work: you will recruit patients from the Cardiology OPD and wards, collect their blood samples, process and store those samples, and keep the study's records in order.

Any graduate can apply, but a B.Sc. in Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) and hands-on phlebotomy experience will give you an edge, along with basic lab skills and comfort with MS Office and data entry.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Duration: 12 months only — the post is sanctioned for the first year of the project.
• Nature of appointment: Purely temporary and co-terminus with the project; it gives no claim to a regular post or an extension at AIIMS.
• Pay rules: Pay follows DST OM No. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 10.07.2020, with HRA as per the DBT sanction.
• Partner site: You will coordinate with collaborating departments and the partner site at AIIMS Guwahati.
• Interview costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

• Identify and recruit study participants (premature-ASCVD patients and controls) from the Cardiology OPD and wards
• Assist with the informed consent process for participants
• Collect venous blood samples from participants following standard biosafety precautions
• Process samples by separating plasma, serum and buffy coat, then aliquot, label and store them at -80 °C
• Assist with clinical laboratory tests, DNA isolation and DNA quality checks
• Collect demographic and clinical data on case record forms and enter it into the study database
• Maintain project records, ethics committee documents and consumable registers
• Help prepare reports for DBT and coordinate with collaborating departments and AIIMS Guwahati
