AIIMS Delhi Project Research Scientist-I Recruitment 2026: Overview

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi is hiring one Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) in its Department of Biophysics. The post sits inside a research project called "Advanced Centre for Clinical Evaluation of Diagnostics of National Importance" (project code I-1767), funded by CAR-ICMR under the Government of India.

The project works on in-vitro diagnostic (IVD) tests — the lab kits and assays used to detect disease from blood and tissue samples. This is a temporary, contractual project post, not a regular AIIMS job. It suits a life sciences or biomedical sciences postgraduate who already has bench experience and wants to work on diagnostics that are being checked for use across India.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Tenure: The engagement is for the project's stated duration of six months.
• Who gets the strongest shot: The project team prefers about four years of hands-on work in cell biology, molecular biology, immunology and IVD assays, plus lab skills such as PCR, RT-PCR, Western blotting, ELISA and immunophenotyping.
• Beyond the bench: Experience in IVD device research and development, molecular imaging, large data handling and grant or proposal writing (including budgets and cost-sharing) will count in your favour.
• Shortlisting: Only selected candidates are called for the interview, so make your CV show these skills clearly.
• Original documents: If you are selected, you must bring all education and experience certificates with you.
• Travel costs: No TA or DA is paid for attending.
