AIIMS CAPFIMS Assistant Professor Recruitment 2026 — 122 Posts

All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) New Delhi, through its Examination Section, has released a Detailed Recruitment Advertisement (DRA) for 122 Assistant Professor posts at the AIIMS-CAPFIMS Campus, Maidangarhi, New Delhi (Notice No. 134/2025). AIIMS-CAPFIMS is a separate campus established under a Memorandum of Agreement between AIIMS New Delhi and the Central Armed Police Forces Institute of Medical Sciences (CAPFIMS). This is a direct recruitment for faculty positions exclusively at AIIMS-CAPFIMS — those appointed here will not be transferred to any other AIIMS campus and will form a separate cadre. Doctors and specialists with MD, MS, DM, MDS, or equivalent qualifications across clinical, surgical, dental, and basic science disciplines can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Medical Disciplines (most posts)

• Step 1 — Basic Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent qualification included in Schedule I & II or Part II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956, from a recognised institution.
• Step 2 — Postgraduate Degree: MD/MS in the relevant specialty (for broad specialties) or DM/M.Ch (for super-specialties like Cardiology, Neurology, Endocrinology) from a recognised institution.
• Step 3 — Experience: 3 years teaching and/or research experience in the relevant specialty after obtaining the postgraduate degree (MD/MS). For super-specialty DM/M.Ch posts, 1 year experience is required (no experience needed if you have a 3-year or 6-year DM/M.Ch degree).

For Dental Disciplines (Post Codes 08–13)

• A Graduate Dental Qualification included in Part-I of the Dentist Act, 1948.
• MDS in the relevant specialty (Orthodontics, Oral Surgery, Conservative Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, Prosthodontics, or Periodontology).
• 3 years teaching and/or research experience after obtaining MDS.

For Non-Medical Candidates (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology — Post Codes 02*, 03*, 25*)

• Master's Degree in Anatomy / Medical Biochemistry/Biochemistry / Physiology from a recognised institution.
• Doctorate Degree from a recognised university.
• 3 years teaching and/or research experience after obtaining the Doctorate.

DNB holders can apply if their DNB training was in a hospital with 500+ beds. If less than 500 beds, one year of senior residency in an NMC-recognised teaching institution is additionally required.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 50 years (as on the last date of online application, i.e., 11 May 2026)
• SC/ST: 5 years relaxation (up to 55 years)
• OBC: 3 years relaxation (up to 53 years)
• PwBD: 5 years relaxation (up to 55 years)
• Government Servant: 5 years relaxation (up to 55 years)
• The upper age limit, even after relaxation, shall not exceed 55 years.
• Age relaxation for Government Servants applies only to regular employees of the Central Government — not to employees of autonomous bodies (including AIIMS), State Governments, or PSUs.

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level 12 under the 7th Central Pay Commission
• Basic Pay: Rs. 1,01,500 to Rs. 1,67,400 per month
• Plus Non-Practising Allowance (NPA) for posts where a recognised medical qualification is an essential requirement
• Plus DA (Dearness Allowance), HRA (House Rent Allowance), and other allowances as per Central Government rules
• Residential accommodation available on campus; if unavailable, HRA is provided as per Central Government rules

Application Fee

• General / OBC: Rs. 3,000
• EWS: Rs. 2,400
• SC / ST: Rs. 2,400 (refundable for candidates who appear in the interview)
• PwBD: No fee (exempted)
• Applications without the prescribed fee will be rejected automatically.

Selection Process

There is no written exam. Selection is done in two stages:

1. Objective Criteria Shortlisting: All eligible applications are scored using a set of objective criteria (detailed in Annexure-III of the notification). Candidates are ranked by score and the top 10 per post are shortlisted for the interview (top 20 if there are 2 posts, top 30 for 3 posts, and so on). The scoring process uses blockchain technology for transparency.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview by the Standing Selection Committee at AIIMS New Delhi. The entire interview process is video-recorded. Final selection is based solely on the interview assessment.

Scores from the objective criteria shortlisting are used only for deciding who gets called for an interview — the final merit list is based on interview performance alone.

3. Register on the portal and fill in the online application form.
4. Upload all required documents — Date of Birth proof, educational qualification certificates, experience certificates, caste/PwBD/EWS certificate (if applicable), and NOC from employer (if currently in government service).
5. Upload a clear photo and signature as per the specifications.
6. Pay the application fee online.
7. Submit the form before 11 May 2026 (5:00 PM) and keep a copy of the registration slip and payment proof.
