IIM Sirmaur Faculty Recruitment 2026

The Indian Institute of Management Sirmaur (IIM Sirmaur), a centrally funded institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, has released Recruitment Advertisement No. 01/2026 dated March 03, 2026. The institute is inviting online applications for faculty positions at three levels — Professor, Associate Professor, and Assistant Professor — under a Special Recruitment Drive. Only candidates belonging to SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS, and PWD categories are eligible to apply. Women candidates are especially encouraged to apply to promote gender diversity.

Who Can Apply?

This recruitment is open only to Indian citizens belonging to SC, ST, NC-OBC, EWS, or PWD categories.

Assistant Professor (Grade-1) — Pay Level-12

• Essential: FPM or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree, and a very good academic record throughout.
• Experience: At least 3 years of industrial/research/teaching experience — this excludes time spent pursuing FPM/Ph.D.
• Desirable: Teaching experience at IITs/IIMs, peer-reviewed publications, or a Ph.D. from a premier foreign university.
• Note: On completing 3 years of service, the incumbent moves to Academic Level 13A1 (Rs. 1,31,400 per month) while retaining the designation of Assistant Professor.

Assistant Professor (Grade-II) — On Contract

• Essential: Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree, and a very good academic record throughout.
• Desirable: Teaching, training, and research experience with publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals.
• Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis and are awaiting defense are also encouraged to apply. Final appointment is made only after the Ph.D. is awarded and degree certificates are submitted.

Associate Professor — Pay Level-13A2

• Essential: FPM or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree.
• Experience: Minimum 6 years of Teaching/Industry/Research experience, of which at least 3 years must be at the level of Assistant Professor (Grade-1).
• Research: Proven track record of teaching, training, research, and publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals (ABDC ranking preferred).

Professor — Pay Level-14A

• Essential: FPM or Ph.D. (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline, with a first class or equivalent at the preceding degree.
• Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 4 years at the level of Associate Professor in IITs/IISc Bangalore/IIMs/NITIE Mumbai/IISERs.
• Research: Successful track record of teaching, training, research, and publications in reputed peer-reviewed journals (ABDC ranking preferred).
• Desirable: Demonstrated leadership in research — Ph.D. supervision, Fellow Programme in Management, conference presentations, patents, course development, MDPs, consultancy, and research projects. Ph.D. from a premier foreign university is preferred.

Age Limit

• Assistant Professor (Grade-1 and Grade-II): Preferably up to 35 years
• Associate Professor and Professor: No age limit specified
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India instructions for SC/ST/NC-OBC/EWS/PWD categories. Upload the requisite certificates in the prescribed format for central government employment.

Salary

• Assistant Professor (Grade-1): Pay Level-12 — Rs. 1,01,500 per month + allowances
• Assistant Professor (Grade-1 after 3 years): Academic Level-13A1 — Rs. 1,31,400 per month + allowances
• Assistant Professor (Grade-II): On Contract — salary as per GoI norms
• Associate Professor: Pay Level-13A2 — Rs. 1,39,600 per month + allowances
• Professor: Pay Level-14A — Rs. 1,59,100 per month + allowances
• Additional benefits include Faculty Development Allowance (FDA), Cumulative Professional Development Allowance (CPDA), Children Education Allowance (CEA), Medical Reimbursement, New Pension Scheme (NPS), Leave Travel Concession (LTC), Publication Rewards, and Seed Grant as per GoI and Institute norms.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is done in 2 stages:

1. Screening: A duly constituted Screening Committee evaluates all applications based on qualifications, experience, research output, and publications. The Institute reserves the right to set its own shortlisting criteria. Merely meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for interview.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview. The Institute communicates only with shortlisted candidates via email. Candidates who have been interviewed at IIM Sirmaur in the last one year are not eligible to apply again.

The Institute may also offer a contractual assignment for one or two years depending on the candidate's academic credentials. A probationary period of 2 years applies to all regular posts. Candidates called for interview for a higher post may be considered for a lower post if found suitable.
