All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubaneswar, an Autonomous Institute of National Importance under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has released advertisement DEANAC-25016/1/2024-DEAN ACADEMIC/5556 dated 20 May 2026. The institute is recruiting 62 Tutors and Demonstrators across Anatomy, Biochemistry, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pathology, Pharmacology and Physiology departments. MD / PhD holders get preference as desirable qualification. The appointment is purely temporary for one year and governed by CCS (Temporary Service) Rules.

Vacancy Breakdown by Department

4% horizontal reservation for PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates as per Government of India policy.

Who Can Apply?

For Anatomy, Biochemistry, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Physiology:

• Essential: MBBS / M.Sc in concerned Medical Speciality from MCI / NMC recognised institute
• Desirable: MD / PhD in respective Medical Speciality

For Forensic Medicine & Toxicology (6 medical posts):

• Essential: MBBS
• Desirable: MD in FMT / MD in Pathology & Lab Medicine
• Non-Medical candidates will not be considered for these 6 posts.

For Forensic Medicine (3 non-medical posts marked with *):

• Essential: M.Sc in Forensic Science

For Pathology & Lab. Medicine:

• Essential: MBBS
• Desirable: MD in Pathology & Lab Medicine / MD in FMT
• Non-Medical candidates will not be considered.

MCI / State Medical Council registration is mandatory for Medical candidates before joining.

Age Limit

• Upper age limit: 30 years (as on last date of submission of application - 5 June 2026)
• SC / ST: 5 years relaxation
• OBC: 3 years relaxation
• PwBD (OPH): 10 years relaxation
• No age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC candidates applying against unreserved vacancies.

Salary

• Pay: Level-10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix (entry pay Rs. 56,100)
• Plus usual allowances as admissible
• NPA (Non-Practising Allowance): Admissible for Medical candidates only
• DA, HRA, TA as per Government of India rules

Application Fee

• General / OBC: Rs. 1,770 (Rs. 1,500 + 18% GST)
• SC / ST / EWS: Rs. 1,416 (Rs. 1,200 + 18% GST)
• PWBD: No application fee

Selection Process

The selection will be done as below:

1. Document Screening: The screening committee will verify documents submitted by candidates before the interview.
2. Written Examination (conditional): Conducted only if the number of applicants is more than 3 times the vacancies for that post. The Competent Authority decides for which posts written exam is needed.
3. Personal Interview: All shortlisted eligible candidates appear for interview.
4. Document Verification: Original certificates verified at the time of interview.

The merit list is prepared on the basis of combined marks of written test and personal interview, or only personal interview at the discretion of the Competent Authority. Posting in departments is at the discretion of the institute.

2. Register and fill the online application form.
3. Upload scanned copies of MBBS / M.Sc / MD / PhD certificates, ID proof, DOB proof, photographs and category certificates.
4. Pay the application fee online.
5. Submit and download the filled application along with fee receipt.
6. Bring printout and original documents at the time of document verification / interview.

Government / PSU candidates must apply through proper channel and produce NOC before the interview.

• Conduct undergraduate (MBBS) and postgraduate teaching in the assigned department
• Demonstrate practical procedures, laboratory techniques and cadaveric / specimen-based learning
• Prepare lesson plans, study material and assessments for medical students
• Assist senior faculty in academic, clinical and research activities
• Guide students during practicals, viva voce and laboratory sessions
• Maintain laboratory equipment, specimens and teaching aids in working condition
• Participate in departmental seminars, journal clubs and case discussions
• Support research projects and contribute to publications under faculty supervision
