AIIMS Bhubaneswar is hiring 4 Assistant Professors (Group A) for its Liver Transplant Unit on a direct recruitment basis. Who Can Apply?

For Critical Care (Assistant Professor):

  • Medical qualification listed in the I or II schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
  • D.M. / DNB / DrNB in Critical Care Medicine
  • One year of teaching or research experience after the qualifying degree (no experience needed if the qualifying degree is a 3-year course)

For HPB Surgery (Assistant Professor):

  • Medical qualification listed in the I or II schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
  • Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS) in the respective discipline
  • M.Ch. in HPB Surgery
  • One year of teaching or research experience after D.M./M.Ch.

For Paediatric Hepatology (Assistant Professor):

  • Medical qualification listed in the I or II schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
  • Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS)
  • D.M. in Pediatric Hepatology
  • One year of teaching or research experience after the qualifying degree

For Anaesthesia (Assistant Professor):

  • Medical qualification listed in the I or II schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956
  • Postgraduate qualification (MD/MS or recognised equivalent) in Anaesthesia
  • Three years of teaching and/or research experience in the subject of specialty after obtaining MD/MS
  • SC candidates get a one-year experience relaxation as per DoPT rules

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 50 years as on the last date of online application submission.
  • Age Relaxation: SC candidates - 5 years, OBC candidates - 3 years, PwBD candidates - 10 years, Government Servants - 5 years (as per DoPT rules).
  • SC/OBC candidates applying for UR posts will not get any age relaxation.

Salary

  • Pay matrix: Level 12 of the Pay Matrix (MoH&FW, INI-I-Section) with a minimum pay of Rs. 1,01,500 per month.
  • Plus NPA (Non-Practicing Allowance) for medically qualified candidates.
  • You will move to Level 13 of the Pay Matrix after three years.
  • Plus DA, HRA and other allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees at Bhubaneswar, Odisha.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Screening of Applications: The Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on the applications received.
  2. Screening Test (if needed): A screening test may be held if a large number of applications are received for a post.
  3. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview at AIIMS Bhubaneswar. The Standing Selection Committee will decide the final methodology of selection.
  4. Document Verification: All original documents must be produced at the time of interview, along with an NOC from the current employer (if you are already in government service).

No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview. Government employees must produce an NOC from their employer to attend the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate medical students in the assigned super specialty
  • Provide clinical care to patients in the Liver Transplant Unit and assist in transplant surgeries when required
  • Conduct research and publish papers in indexed medical journals
  • Guide DM, M.Ch and Ph.D. scholars in their dissertations and thesis work
  • Attend OPD, ward rounds, emergency duties and operation theatres as per the duty roster
  • Participate in academic committees, CMEs, conferences and continuing medical education activities
  • Maintain proper clinical records and follow institutional protocols for patient care
  • Work at rural or urban health centres attached to the Institute as required

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

MD/MS with three years experience, or DM/M.Ch in the relevant super specialty (HPB Surgery, Paediatric Hepatology, Critical Care Medicine) from a recognised institute

Preferred Qualification

Teaching and research experience in a recognised institute in the relevant specialty

Required Skills

Clinical expertise in the relevant specialty, teaching ability, research aptitude, surgical skills (for HPB Surgery), critical care management
