About This Job

ACTREC, the research and education arm of the Tata Memorial Centre, is hiring an Ad-hoc Consultant (Pathology) for its Department of Pathology in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra. ACTREC Ad-hoc Consultant (Pathology) Recruitment 2026 - Walk-In Interview

The Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC) is the research and education satellite of the Tata Memorial Centre, a grant-in-aid institute under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India. Through advertisement No. ACTREC/ADVT.127/2026 dated 1 July 2026, it has called qualified pathologists for a walk-in interview to fill an Ad-hoc Consultant position in the Department of Pathology. This is a contract role for an initial period of six months, which can be extended based on the Centre's requirement. Since ACTREC is one of India's leading cancer treatment and research institutes, this is a strong opening for a pathologist who wants hands-on work in oncopathology.

Educational Qualification

  • DM (Oncopathology), OR
  • MD / DNB in Pathology, or an equivalent postgraduate degree in Pathology that is recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC)

Experience

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Pathology after your MD / DNB
  • This experience must be from a teaching hospital

  • Maximum age: 45 years, calculated as on the advertisement date (1 July 2026)

Responsibilities

  • Examine tissue, blood and biopsy samples to diagnose cancer and other diseases
  • Prepare accurate histopathology and cytopathology reports
  • Work with oncologists and surgeons to plan and guide patient treatment
  • Handle frozen-section reporting during surgeries when required
  • Supervise and guide junior doctors and laboratory staff in the pathology lab
  • Maintain proper records of samples, reports and laboratory quality checks
  • Take part in tumour board meetings and clinical case discussions
