Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), a Navratna railway PSU, is hiring one General Manager (Civil) on deputation for its Bhopal/Indore location. Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) has issued Vacancy Notice No. 2026/RVNL/38-CIVIL for one General Manager (Civil) post on a deputation basis. The posting is at Bhopal/Indore and the tenure is five years (subject to the Government's approval for exemption from the rule of immediate absorption). This is a senior-level opening for experienced civil engineering officers who have worked on infrastructure and construction projects.

RVNL is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways and is one of the main agencies that plans and builds railway infrastructure across India — new lines, doubling, gauge conversion, electrification, bridges and stations. A General Manager (Civil) here leads major project execution, so the role suits a senior officer who has run large civil and construction works.

Who Can Apply?

This post is only for serving officers applying through proper channel on deputation. You are eligible if you belong to Civil Engineering / IRSE or another PSU and you are holding, on a regular (substantive) basis, any one of the following:

• A post in an analogous grade (Level-14 CDA / IDA E-8), OR
• A post in Level-13 (CDA) with 17 years of service in Group 'A', OR
• A post in grade IDA E-7 (Rs. 1,00,000 - 2,60,000) for at least 4 years.

Experience: Preference is given to officers who have handled planning, execution and management of infrastructure projects or worked in a construction organization. The cut-off date for age and eligibility is the closing date of the vacancy notice.

In simple terms: this is not an open-market job. You need to already be a government or PSU officer in the right grade, and you come to RVNL on deputation for about five years before returning to your parent department (unless absorption is later approved).

Age Limit

• You must be below 58 years as on the closing date of the vacancy notice.

Salary

• The post is at Level-14 (CDA) under the 7th CPC — Rs. 1,44,200 to Rs. 2,18,200 per month — which corresponds to IDA E-8 (Rs. 1,20,000 - 2,80,000).
• On deputation, you will get your parent pay plus deputation (duty) allowance as per rules.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is based on the scrutiny of applications received through proper channel:

1. Eligibility Screening: RVNL shortlists officers who meet the grade, service and experience criteria.
2. Clearances: Your application must come with vigilance/DAR clearance and your APAR grading for the last 5 years.
3. Final Selection: RVNL selects the candidate for deputation as per rules.
