Raman Research Institute (RRI) Consultant (Civil) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

RRI, a premier institute funded by the Government of India and engaged in research in basic sciences, has released Advertisement No. 20/2026 dated 17 July 2026 for 1 Consultant (Civil) post on a contractual basis. This role is specifically meant for retired employees, preferably from research institutions, of the Government of India, Autonomous Institutions, or Quasi-Government organisations — candidates already in service are not eligible. The selected consultant will be based at RRI's main campus in Bengaluru and may also be expected to participate in maintenance work at the Institute's Gauribidanur Radio Observatory and other field sites.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Retired government employee with a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Retirement Grade: You must have retired from Pay Level 6 or above (as per 7th CPC) in a Central/Autonomous Body/Quasi-Government organisation.
• Experience: At least 15 years' experience in the relevant field.
• Candidates already in service are not eligible for this post.

Age Limit

• You must be below 64 years old as on the last date of application, 17 August 2026.

Salary

• Emoluments range between Rs. 25,000 and Rs. 1,00,000 per month, depending on your educational qualification and relevant experience, calculated with reference to your last pay drawn minus pension.
• You will also get TA (Travelling Allowance) as per DoPT orders.
• The engagement is initially for one year, extendable for a further six months or till you turn 65, whichever is earlier.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection for this post is done in a single stage:

1. Personal Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a personal interview. RRI may restrict the number of candidates called for interview based on qualification and experience higher than the minimum prescribed.

Meeting the essential qualifications does not automatically entitle you to an interview call. Incomplete applications will not be considered, and RRI reserves the right not to fill the post if a suitable candidate is not found.
