King George's Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow, is one of the oldest and largest medical universities in India, and its Gandhi Memorial & Associated Hospitals form one of the university's major clinical training and treatment centres. The university has announced a short-term recruitment drive to fill Non-PG Junior Resident posts across multiple clinical departments including CVTS, Critical Care Medicine, Thoracic Surgery and Nuclear Medicine (interview on 13 August) and Medical Oncology, Urology, Rheumatology and Surgical Oncology (interview on 14 August) at its Gandhi Memorial & Associated Hospitals. Seats are available across UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories. No written exam is conducted — selection happens directly through a walk-in interview at the Medical Superintendent's office.

Seats are available across UR, OBC, SC, ST and EWS categories. The number of posts may increase or decrease at the time of interview based on adjustments by DGME UP, Lucknow, under the compulsory Government Service Bond rules — check the official notification for the latest seat matrix.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need an MBBS degree (including completed internship) or an equivalent degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI).
• Experience Window: You can apply only within 5 years of completing your internship.
• Domicile for Reservation: Only candidates with Uttar Pradesh domicile get the benefit of reservation. Reserved category candidates from other states are treated as unreserved category candidates for all purposes.
• Service Cap: A maximum of 36 months' total service is allowed as a Non-PG JR, with a maximum of 18 months in any one department.
• Registration: State Medical Registration is mandatory before joining, if you are selected.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for Non-PG Junior Resident (Non-Academic) posts is 40 years as on the date of interview.
• Age Relaxation: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC candidates with Uttar Pradesh domicile, and for widowed, divorced or legally separated women (not remarried) and persons with disabilities, as per government rules.

Application Fee

• UR / OBC: Rs. 3,000
• SC / ST: Rs. 2,000
• Payment mode: Deposit into the University Income Fund account at Indian Bank, KGMU Branch, Lucknow (account details in the official notification).

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

1. Walk-in Interview: Held on 13 and 14 August 2026 for the respective departments. Reporting time is 1:30 PM and the interview starts at 2:00 PM.
2. Document Verification: Bring original certificates, testimonials and photocopies for verification at the venue.

If you are selected, you will need to submit affidavits (as per the format given in the notification) on a Rs. 10 e-stamp paper regarding your previous experience and caste certificate at the time of joining. State Medical Registration is mandatory before joining, and no TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

2. Fill in the form and attach a self-certified copy of your documents.
3. Submit the completed form at the office of the Medical Superintendent, Gandhi Memorial & Associated Hospitals, KGMU, Lucknow, by 12 August 2026.
4. Report for the walk-in interview at the Committee Hall, Medical Superintendent Office, on 13 or 14 August 2026 as per your department, with original certificates and the fee receipt.
5. Bring one set of Xerox copies of all relevant certificates and testimonials, along with originals, for verification at the time of the interview.
