Advanced Centre for Treatment, Research and Education in Cancer (ACTREC), part of Tata Memorial Centre, is recruiting a Junior Research Fellow for a peptide and apoptosis research project at Kharghar, Navi Mumbai. The project studies newly designed peptides or peptidomimetics and how they may help DEF formation in the apoptotic pathway. This is a laboratory-intensive cancer-research assignment where molecular biology, cell assays and protein work come together around one defined biological question.

The fellow will contribute to experiments that move from gene constructs and protein preparation to cellular and biophysical analysis. The work calls for someone comfortable handling detailed protocols, recording results carefully and connecting observations from different laboratory methods. Independent bench work is particularly valuable for this opening, although the selected person will operate within ACTREC's project and academic research setting.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Short project term: The engagement starts with a three-month duration. Treat it as a time-bound project appointment, not a route to a permanent Tata Memorial Centre post.
• Early joining: ACTREC wants the selected fellow to join as soon as possible after the decision. Applicants waiting for their final result cannot be considered.
• Course duration: A one-year M.Sc. programme is not accepted for this post, even if the subject otherwise matches the listed fields.
• Practical readiness: The project favours applicants who can work independently with mammalian cell culture, recombinant proteins, molecular biology, biophysical analysis and apoptosis assays.
• In-person assessment: This recruitment is through a walk-in interview at ACTREC. You should plan for travel to Kharghar and allow enough time to complete the reporting formalities.
• Evidence at interview: ACTREC will check the claims in your CV against original records and copies. Missing proof can prevent the interview team from assessing your qualification or experience.
