ICAR-Indian Institute of Millets Research Research Manager Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

ICAR-Indian Institute of Millets Research (ICAR-IIMR) has opened one contractual Research Manager position under the OMM-FPO Incubation Project. The project focuses on capacity building and stronger value chains for scaling millet production in domestic and export markets. The engagement runs until 31 March 2027 and may continue further when performance and project funding allow.

The position is based at ICAR-IIMR, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad and can involve extensive field travel. It suits a postgraduate who can coordinate farmer programmes, business planning, value-chain work, project monitoring and stakeholder documentation. The role is temporary and does not create a claim to regular absorption in ICAR-IIMR or the funding agency.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential qualification: You need postgraduate study in Agronomy, Genetics, Plant Breeding, Agribusiness Management, Rural Management, Agricultural Extension or Agricultural Economics.
• University condition: The degree must be from a recognized university with ICAR accreditation.
• Desirable doctorate: A PhD in the relevant subject is preferred.
• Communication: Strong communication, coordination and documentation ability is desirable.
• Capacity building: Experience with technology dissemination, demonstrations and training for farmers or other stakeholders is desirable.
• Value chain: Millet business plans, entrepreneurship, processing, value addition, post-harvest management, branding, marketing and market-linkage experience are useful.
• Project work: Implementation, monitoring, reporting, documentation and impact-assessment experience is desirable.
• Travel: You must be willing to travel extensively for field activities.

You must bring certificates supporting the essential and any desirable qualifications you claim. The notice does not set a minimum number of experience years, so the structured experience field remains open; however, your bio-data should clearly explain relevant millet, farmer-training, project or enterprise work.

Only applicants who hold the essential postgraduate qualification can attend the interview. If you currently work elsewhere, bring both an experience certificate and a No Objection Certificate from that employer. Keep the employer details and service dates consistent across your bio-data, certificate and NOC.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 35 years as on 25 August 2026.
• SC/ST and women: The upper limit is relaxed by 5 years.
• OBC: The upper limit is relaxed by 3 years.
• Other conditions: Relaxation follows Government of India rules stated in the notice.

Your date of birth must match the age proof shown during registration. Carry the original and a self-attested or attested copy because unsupported age claims can lead to rejection.

Salary

• The Research Manager receives Rs. 50,000 per month.
• Pay type: The amount is consolidated and fixed.
• Tenure: The current project term runs up to 31 March 2027 and may be extended based on performance and funding.

The notice does not list separate DA, HRA, TA or other allowances above the fixed salary. No TA/DA or other expense is paid for attending the interview.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through an in-person walk-in interview with document checking. The notice does not announce a written examination, marks pattern or separate skill test.

1. Registration: Report by 10:15 AM with the signed application, photograph and document set.
2. Document Verification: Show original date-of-birth, degree and experience certificates and provide the required copies.
3. Eligibility Check: Officials confirm the essential postgraduate qualification before allowing you to interview.
4. Walk-in Interview: The interview starts from 10:30 AM on 25 August 2026.
5. Final Decision: The Project Investigator or Director makes the final decision, and the selected person may need to join immediately.

Reporting after the prescribed time, including the stated 15-minute grace period, is not accepted. Canvassing or false claims can cancel the application or later appointment.

8. Complete registration and attend the interview from 10:30 AM onwards.
