DMHO Khammam MO and Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026: Overview

District Medical and Health Officer, Khammam is recruiting Medical Officers and Nursing Officers for Basti Dawakhanas under the National Health Mission, Telangana. The posts support neighbourhood health facilities in Khammam district and combine clinical leadership with front-line nursing care. This is a district health-programme engagement, not a regular state cadre appointment.

The recruitment brings two complementary professions into the same notification. Doctors will anchor diagnosis and treatment, while nursing staff will manage continuing patient care, clinical assistance and health-facility records. Post-wise Duties

Medical Officer

You will lead day-to-day clinical services, examine patients and make treatment or referral decisions. You will also coordinate with the district health administration and facility staff so public-health services run safely and consistently.

Nursing Officer

You will support consultations, monitor patients and carry out nursing care under approved protocols. Accurate records, infection control and clear communication with the Medical Officer and patients are central to the role.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: The appointment runs for one year or until the actual need ends, whichever happens earlier. These are not permanent or regular government posts.
• Training: Selected doctors and nurses must complete two weeks of induction training before settling into their assigned work.
• Posting: Placement is at an identified health facility or Basti Dawakhana in Khammam district, based on merit and options.
• Panel validity: The district may use the selection panel for future openings for one year from the final selection date.
• Termination notice: Either side may end the engagement with a thirty-day notice, subject to the stated service conditions.
• Performance: Work will be reviewed from time to time and may affect extension or termination if the programme continues.
• Administrative control: Appointees work under the overall control of CH&FW and the Mission Director, NHM and may need to undertake official tours.
• Interview travel: No TA or DA is payable for attending any interaction called by the district.
