About This Job

Apply for 400 Special Police Officer (SPO) posts in Haryana Police. Ex-servicemen with 10+2 eligible. Walk-in interview by 27 Aug 2026 at haryanapolice.gov.in.

Haryana Police is hiring 400 Special Police Officers (SPOs) for its Telecommunication Wing. If you are an ex-serviceman of the Armed Forces or Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), or an ex-Constable of the disbanded HSISF/HAP Battalions, and have 10+2 qualification, you can apply. There is no written or physical test for this engagement — selection is through document verification and a short interview. You need to appear in person on your district's scheduled date, which falls between 24 and 27 August 2026.

Haryana Police (HP) Special Police Officer (SPO) Engagement 2026 - 400 Posts

The Office of the Superintendent of Police, Telecommunication, Haryana, Panchkula, is engaging 400 Special Police Officers under Section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007, to strengthen its Telecommunication Wing. This is a one-year engagement, open only to ex-servicemen of the Armed Forces and CAPFs, and ex-Constables of the disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF) and Haryana Armed Police (HAP) Battalions. Preference goes to candidates who served in the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces or CAPFs, or who otherwise have hands-on experience handling telecommunication equipment.

The Telecommunication Wing keeps Haryana Police connected across all its districts — from routine patrolling updates to coordination during emergencies, law and order situations, and disaster response. By bringing in ex-servicemen with a background in signals and communication, the department gets trained, disciplined personnel without a fresh written exam or a lengthy physical test. If you served in a communication or signals role during your time in uniform, this engagement lets you put that experience to use again, close to home in Haryana. It also gives the department a way to add trained hands quickly, since the candidates already carry years of discipline and technical grounding from their earlier service.

Under Section 21 of the Haryana Police Act, 2007, the state government is allowed to engage suitable persons as Special Police Officers to support the regular police force for specific duties. In this round, the engagement is limited to the Telecommunication Wing, so the department is specifically looking for candidates who already understand wireless sets, signal equipment, and secure communication protocols from their time in the Armed Forces or CAPFs.

Who Can Apply?

Before you travel to Panchkula, check that you meet every condition below — the department has kept the eligibility criteria strict since this is a specialised technical role:

  • Qualification: You need at least 10+2 (senior secondary) from a recognized board.
  • Category: You must be an ex-serviceman of the Armed Forces or Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), or an ex-Constable of the disbanded Haryana State Industrial Security Force (HSISF) or Haryana Armed Police (HAP) Battalions.
  • Experience: You must have completed a minimum of 5 years of service in the Armed Forces or CAPFs.
  • Conduct: You should not have been removed or dismissed from your earlier service on grounds of indiscipline, misconduct, or medical unfitness.
  • Preference is given to candidates who have handled telecommunication equipment, particularly those who served in the Signal Corps of the Armed Forces or CAPFs.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 25 and 50 years old as on the date of advertisement.

Selection Process

Haryana Police keeps this process simple — there is no written or physical test for the SPO engagement. Selection happens in two steps:

  1. Document Verification: Bring your original documents, one set of attested photocopies, and the required affidavit(s) on your district's scheduled date. Incomplete applications will not be entertained.
  2. Interview: Eligible candidates are assessed in person on the same visit before the final selection is made.

Once your documents are verified and you clear the interview, you will be engaged as a Special Police Officer for a period of one year in the Haryana Police Telecommunication Wing.
