BEL Senior Assistant Engineer Recruitment 2026 — Ex-Servicemen

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a NavRatna Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India, has invited online applications for the post of Senior Assistant Engineer at E-1 Grade. This recruitment is exclusively for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) — retired personnel from the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force.

The posting is on a Fixed Tenure basis for a maximum of 15 years from the date of joining, with a review every 5 years. Selected candidates will be posted at BEL units in Visakhapatnam, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, and Agra.

Who Can Apply

This recruitment is open only to Ex-Servicemen — candidates who have served in the Indian Army, Navy, or Air Force and held the rank of Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) or equivalent at the time of retirement.

Qualification: Diploma in Electronics Engineering or an equivalent diploma — Pass Class is enough. No minimum percentage needed.

Experience: You must have at least 15 years of post-qualification work experience as on 01 February 2026.

Nationality: Only Indian nationals can apply.

Age Limit (as on 01 February 2026)

• Unreserved (UR): Up to 50 years
• OBC (NCL): Up to 53 years
• SC / ST: Up to 55 years

Salary

The pay scale is Rs. 30,000 – 3% – Rs. 1,20,000 (E-1 Grade, IDA pay scale), plus admissible allowances as per BEL company rules.

Selection Process

Selection has three stages:

1. Written Test — 85 marks
2. Interview — 15 marks (candidates shortlisted at a ratio of 1:7 based on written test score)
3. Medical Examination — Pre-employment medical fitness check is required

Important Note on Tenure

This is a Fixed Tenure Employment (FTE) contract. The maximum tenure is 15 years from the date of joining. The tenure is reviewed every 5 years — continuation depends on satisfactory performance.

• Handle electronics engineering work at the assigned BEL unit or workshop
• Support maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic equipment and systems
• Carry out technical inspections and quality checks as assigned
• Maintain proper records of work done, equipment status, and technical documentation
• Follow BEL's operational procedures, safety rules, and defence security protocols
• Coordinate with team members and senior engineers on project tasks
• Report technical issues and escalate as needed to ensure timely resolution
• Assist in training or supervising junior technical staff when required
