All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar is building a multidisciplinary project team in its Department of Microbiology for an ICMR-funded capacity-building programme. The project focuses on managing healthcare-associated infection outbreaks in tertiary and secondary hospitals through a hub-and-spoke model. It forms part of pandemic-preparedness work under PMABHIM, so the team will combine microbiology, nursing, infection control and technical data support.

The positions work under the project's principal investigator and are purely temporary contractual engagements, not regular AIIMS appointments. This opportunity is especially relevant if you want applied experience in hospital infection control and public-health preparedness. Each role contributes differently, and you must use a separate application for every post you want to be considered for.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Research Scientist-I: a postgraduate research role for Microbiology, Medical Microbiology or Public Health candidates, supporting the scientific side of the infection-control project.
• Project Nurse-III: a hospital-facing nursing role suited to candidates who can support infection-control practice and communicate with clinical teams.
• Project Technical Support-II: a technical and data-support role for candidates with science, laboratory, engineering, medical-microbiology or public-health training and relevant field experience.

Post-wise Duties

Project Research Scientist-I

You will support research planning, outbreak-related analysis and scientific documentation under the principal investigator. Your work may connect hospital microbiology information with the project's wider capacity-building activities and reporting needs.

Project Nurse-III

You will help clinical teams follow hospital infection-control practices, observe relevant care processes and keep project nursing records organised. Clear communication with patients, nurses and infection-control staff will be important in the assigned hospital setting.

Project Technical Support-II

You will assist with laboratory or field records, data management and routine technical coordination. Depending on your background, your assignment may involve sample-related support, public-health information, hospital data or MS Office-based project records.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: each engagement is tied to the sanctioned project period and ends with the stated project term unless AIIMS changes the arrangement under the funding rules.
• No regular claim: contract service creates no right to a regular AIIMS post, absorption, transfer or another project assignment.
• Experience timing: relevant experience is counted only after you acquired the minimum essential qualification.
• Recognised institution: qualifications and experience must come from a reputable institution and relate to the discipline or field required for the post.
• Government employees: people already in regular government service must follow the proper channel and bring a No Objection Certificate.
• Separate forms: if you want consideration for more than one role, prepare an individual prescribed application for each one.
• Leave and notice: project leave follows the funding agency or institute policy, and early departure is subject to the contractual notice condition.
• No selection guarantee: meeting the basic qualification does not ensure selection; the committee decides suitability for each role.
• Updates: any corrigendum, addendum or further information will appear only on the AIIMS Bhubaneswar website.

Bring the completed application, original qualification and experience certificates plus one set of photocopies. Your records must support every eligibility and experience claim in the form. There is no separate online application process for this walk-in engagement.
