The Office of the CDM & PHO cum DMD, Sundargarh, has issued Advertisement No. 1866/DPMU/NHM/2026 to fill multiple health posts on contractual basis till March 2027, subject to renewal as per Society norms based on performance. The engagement is purely temporary and co-terminus with the scheme. No written exam — selection is through Personal Interview (PI) with 100% weightage, except for AYUSH MO posts which also include a career assessment component. Candidates must have passed Odia up to M.E. standard.

Who Can Apply?

Medical Officer - DTC (1 post)

• MBBS from an NMC-recognised institution with valid Odisha Council of Medical Registration.
• 2 years post-qualification experience in a Tuberculosis Control Programme. OR MBBS with Diploma/MD in Public Health or Tuberculosis & Chest Diseases from an NMC-recognised institution.

MO MBBS at DEIC and UPHC-AAM (2 posts)

• MBBS from an NMC-recognised institution with valid Odisha Council of Medical Registration.

Pediatrician at DEIC (1 post)

• MBBS from an NMC-recognised institution + MD in Paediatrics / Diploma of National Board in Child Health / Diploma in Child Health from a recognised university.
• Valid registration with the Odisha Council of Medical Registration.

Medical Officer AYUSH (41 posts)

• Bachelor Degree in Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) / Homeopathy Medicine & Surgery (BHMS) / Degree in Unani system of Medicine from a recognised university.
• Must have completed the internship training.
• Valid registration with Odisha State Council / Board of Ayurvedic Medicine / Homeopathy Medicine. No provisional registration is acceptable.
• PG degree in BAMS/BHMS/Unani will get additional weightage.

Optometrist - DEIC (1 post)

• Diploma in Optometry from a recognised institution, or trained as Ophthalmic Assistant from a recognised Govt. Hospital / Institution.
• Candidates with Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Optometry will be given preference.

Dental Technician - DEIC (1 post)

• Diploma in Dental Technology (at least 2-year course duration) from a recognised institution. The institution must be recognised by the Dental Council of India.

Common Requirements

• Candidates must have passed Odia up to M.E. standard.
• Already-working Health Department employees must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned employer.

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age (as on 01 May 2026):
• Medical Officer DTC / DEIC / UPHC-AAM / Pediatrician: up to 67 years
• Medical Officer AYUSH: up to 38 years
• Optometrist and Dental Technician: up to 40 years
• Age Relaxation for OSH&FW Society employees: 1 year per completed contractual term (11 months each), up to a maximum of 10 years, subject to an age ceiling of 55 years. The employee must have completed at least 3 terms with PAR remarks of "Outstanding" or "Very Good" in the preceding 3 terms.

Salary

• Pediatrician at DEIC: Rs. 90,422/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• MO MBBS at DEIC and UPHC-AAM: Rs. 72,338/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• Medical Officer DTC: Rs. 69,625/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• Medical Officer AYUSH: Rs. 31,000/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• Optometrist DEIC: Rs. 19,387/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• Dental Technician DEIC: Rs. 16,837/- per month + Performance Incentive (Max 25%)
• The number of vacancies and remunerations may vary at the time of actual engagement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is through Personal Interview only for most posts. For Medical Officer AYUSH, a Career Assessment is also conducted.

1. Personal Interview (PI) — 100%: For MO DTC, MO MBBS at DEIC, Pediatrician at DEIC, MO-MBBS at UPHC-AAM, Optometrist and Dental Technician. Candidates securing more than 50% in PI will be entertained for the panel.
2. Career Assessment — Medical Officer AYUSH only: Matriculation: 20 marks, +2: 20 marks, BHMS/BAMS/Unani: 50 marks, PG in Ayurvedic/Homeopathy/Unani: full 10 marks. In case of equal marks, the elder candidate (as per 10th certificate) is placed above.
3. Document Verification: All certificates and testimonials will be verified on the same day of the walk-in.

Candidates securing 50% and more marks in the Final Panel Merit list will be placed in a panel valid for 1 year from the date of approval, which may also be used for similar posts under NHM with the same qualification and remuneration.

2. Fill the application form in the prescribed format and self-attest a recent passport-size colour photograph.
3. Bring all original certificates and testimonials (age, qualification, experience, registration) along with self-attested photocopies.
4. Bring two passport-size colour photographs and a self-attested ID proof (Voter Card, PAN, Driving Licence, Aadhaar or Passport).

• Provide clinical care and outpatient consultations at the assigned DTC, DEIC, UPHC, RBSK, MHU or Collocated facility under NHM
• Diagnose and manage cases as per the National Programme protocols — Tuberculosis Control, RBSK child health screening, AYUSH treatment, or UPHC primary care
• Conduct screening, examination, and referral of children for the District Early Intervention Centre (DEIC) and Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK)
• Maintain accurate patient records, treatment registers, and timely reporting to the District Programme Management Unit
• Coordinate with the ASHA, ANM, and Anganwadi workers for community outreach, immunisation, and awareness sessions
• Follow Standard Treatment Guidelines, Bio-Medical Waste Management rules, and quality assurance norms of NHM
• Assist in the implementation of district-level health programmes and respond to public health emergencies as directed by the CDM & PHO
• Optometrists and Dental Technicians: support eye care screening and dental health services at the DEIC respectively
