The District Health & Family Welfare Society (Arogyakeralam), Malappuram, under the National Health Mission (NHM) Kerala, has released notification number NHM/794/2026-A3 dated 26 May 2026 inviting applications for 4 contract posts. 1 Audiologist post is confirmed and the other 3 posts (Ophthalmic Assistant, STLS, STS) are anticipatory — vacancies will be filled as and when they arise. Malayalam reading and writing is mandatory. Selection is based on qualification, experience and performance in the written exam or interview.

Who Can Apply?

For Audiologist cum Speech Therapist (ANUYATHRA) — Rs. 30,000/month

• Qualification: Bachelor degree in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognised university
• RCI Registration: Mandatory
• Experience: Three years of post-qualification experience

For Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS) — Rs. 20,500/month

• Essential: Bachelor's Degree OR Recognized Sanitary Inspector's course
• Computer: Certificate course in computer operation (minimum 2 months)
• Driving: Permanent two-wheeler driving licence and ability to ride a two-wheeler
• Preferred: Tuberculosis Health Visitor's course / Govt. recognised Diploma or Degree in Social Work / Medical Social Work / Multi-purpose Health Worker training

For Senior Tuberculosis Laboratory Supervisor (STLS) — Rs. 20,500/month

• Essential: Graduate or Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent from a Govt. recognised institution
• Computer: Certificate course in computer operation (minimum 2 months)
• Driving: Permanent two-wheeler driving licence and ability to ride a two-wheeler
• Preferred: Minimum one year of experience in NTEP (National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme)

For Ophthalmic Assistant — Rs. 17,000/month

• Plus Two with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Mathematics as optional subjects
• Plus one of these:
• 2-year Diploma in Ophthalmic Assistant's course from a Medical College in Kerala (or equivalent) with 2 years' experience, OR
• Degree in Optometry / Ophthalmic Assistant from a recognised university approved by Government of Kerala with 2 years' experience

Language Requirement (All Posts)

• You must be able to read and write Malayalam
• You should be willing to work in any institution in Malappuram District as assigned by the Society

Age Limit

• Maximum age is 40 years as on 01 May 2026 for all posts
• No minimum age specified in the notification

Salary

• Audiologist cum Speech Therapist: Rs. 30,000 per month
• Senior Treatment Supervisor (STS): Rs. 20,500 per month
• Senior Tuberculosis Laboratory Supervisor (STLS): Rs. 20,500 per month
• Ophthalmic Assistant: Rs. 17,000 per month
• All salaries are consolidated as per NHM contract terms

Important Dates

• Provide audiology assessment, speech therapy and language pathology services to patients (Audiologist)
• Supervise tuberculosis treatment at field level and ensure DOTS regimens are followed (STS)
• Conduct sputum smear microscopy and laboratory diagnosis of tuberculosis (STLS)
• Carry out vision testing, refraction work and assist ophthalmologists during eye clinics (Ophthalmic Assistant)
• Maintain patient records, registers and monthly progress reports in line with NHM protocols
• Travel to PHCs, sub-centres and field locations within Malappuram District as required
• Coordinate with ASHA workers, ANMs and district health team for outreach activities
• Follow all rules, regulations and SOPs issued by NHM Kerala from time to time
