Vikram Dev University has extended the faculty recruitment schedule. Online submission was extended from 10 June 2026, 11:59 PM to 20 June 2026, 11:59 PM. Hard-copy receipt by Speed/Registered Post is extended from 20 June 2026, 5:00 PM to 30 June 2026, 5:00 PM.

The notice also gives alternative bank details/link for online payment of the application processing fee. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

Responsibilities

  • Teach assigned undergraduate and postgraduate subjects as per the approved curriculum
  • Prepare lesson plans, study materials, question papers and lab manuals
  • Evaluate student assignments, dissertations, project work and examinations
  • Guide M.Phil and Ph.D research scholars in their academic work
  • Conduct original research and publish papers in reputed UGC-CARE journals
  • Participate in seminars, conferences and academic outreach programmes
  • Serve on departmental and university committees as nominated by the authority
  • Mentor students on academic, career and personal development matters

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant subject from a recognised university, plus NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D as per UGC Regulations 2018

Preferred Qualification

Ph.D in the concerned subject with published research papers in UGC-CARE journals

Required Skills

Subject expertise, research aptitude, academic writing, classroom communication, mentorship

Assistant Professor: Pay Level 10 (Rs. 57,700 – Rs. 1,82,400). Associate Professor: Pay Level 13A (Rs. 1,31,400 – Rs. 2,17,100). Professor: Pay Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – Rs. 2,18,200), plus DA, HRA and other allowances as per Government of Odisha rules.

You must meet the UGC Regulations 2018 criteria. For Assistant Professor: a Master's degree with at least 55% marks plus NET/SLET/SET (Ph.D holders are exempted). Associate Professor needs Ph.D plus 8 years teaching experience. Professor needs Ph.D plus 10 years teaching/research experience with published work.

Apply online at the Odisha HIMS portal himsrecruitment.odisha.gov.in from 12 May 2026. Fill the form, upload documents, pay the fee, and send the signed printout with certificates by Speed/Registered Post to the Registrar, Vikram Dev University, Jeypore-764001 by 20 June 2026.

UR and SEBC candidates pay Rs. 2,000. SC, ST, PwD and Women candidates pay Rs. 1,000. The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.
