Vikram Dev University (VDU), Jeypore, Koraput (Odisha) has released advertisement number 2354/VDU/2026 for the temporary engagement of Retired Assistant Professors and Guest Faculties against additionally allowed teaching positions of Assistant Professor. A total of 24 positions are open across 11 subjects. This is a purely temporary arrangement that runs till the regular posts are filled, with each engagement for a maximum of six months at a time. The drive is open to retired teachers from any government, aided or private higher education institution, as well as eligible candidates who meet UGC norms.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must hold the qualifications prescribed by the UGC for the post of Assistant Professor in your subject — usually a Master's degree with at least 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC/PwD) along with NET/SLET/SET, or a Ph.D as per UGC regulations.
• Retired faculty: Retired Associate Professors, Professors, Adjunct Professors, Professor Emeritus and Professors of Practice from any government, aided or private higher education institution can also apply.
• Professor of Practice: Experts with at least 15 years of professional experience may apply even without a formal academic qualification.

Age Limit

• There is no fixed upper age limit to apply. Engaged retired faculty may continue teaching until they reach 70 years of age, subject to satisfactory performance.

Salary (Honorarium)

• Faculty with a Ph.D engaged for PG courses will be paid Rs. 1,000 per class, up to a maximum of Rs. 60,000 per month (60 classes).
• Faculty without a Ph.D engaged for PG/UG courses will be paid Rs. 750 per class, up to a maximum of Rs. 45,000 per month (60 classes).
• No other allowances are paid. Income tax (TDS) is deducted as per rules.

• There is no application fee for this recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection is based on a walk-in interview and academic merit. Your score is built up as follows:

1. Academic Record: Marks for Graduation, Post Graduation, M.Phil and Ph.D.
2. NET/SET Qualification: Up to 10 marks (NET with JRF scores highest).
3. Research Publications: Up to 10 marks.
4. Teaching Experience: Up to 10 marks (1 mark per year).
5. Demo Class and Viva Voce: Up to 30 marks.
6. Document Verification: Original certificates are checked at the venue.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
