UIDAI Technical Officer Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the statutory body responsible for the Aadhaar programme under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), has issued a vacancy circular for 5 Technical Officer posts at its Technology Centre, Bengaluru. These posts are to be filled on a deputation (Foreign Service terms) basis, meaning only officers currently serving in Central Government, State Government, PSUs, or Autonomous Organisations are eligible to apply. The closing date was extended from 02 April 2026 to 22 May 2026 via an extension circular dated 07 April 2026. Officers who already applied against the original circular dated 02.02.2026 do not need to apply again.

Who Can Apply?

Service Eligibility (Essential — any one of the following):

• Officers from the Central Government holding analogous posts on regular basis in their parent cadre/department
• Officers with 3 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-7 (Rs. 44,900–1,42,400) of the 7th CPC
• Officers with 5 years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level-6 (Rs. 35,400–1,12,400) of the 7th CPC
• Officers from State Government / PSU / Autonomous Organisation holding regular post in corresponding grades with requisite experience

Educational Qualification (Essential):

• A four-year degree in Engineering or Technology (B.E./B.Tech/B.S.) from a Government-recognized institution
• OR a Master's Degree in Computer Applications (MCA) from a Government-recognized institution

Desirable Experience:

• Work experience in Project Management, Procurement, or RFP Preparation
• Experience in ICT projects, e-Governance, or networking
• Background in Telecom or Information Security

Important Conditions:

• You must have at least 5 years of total government service to be eligible
• Minimum residual service of 3 years as on the closing date is required
• Officers holding analogous posts in the parent organisation will be preferred
• Private candidates are not eligible under any circumstances

Age Limit

• Maximum age: below 56 years as on 02 April 2026 (the eligibility reference date)

Salary

• Pay Matrix Level-8 of the 7th Central Pay Commission
• Pay range: Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100 per month
• During the deputation period, salary, allowances, joining time, medical benefits, and travelling allowance shall be as per UIDAI's Appointment Regulations, 2020 and Salary/Allowances Regulations, 2020
• You will also be eligible for medical facilities under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) and UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme

• No application fee — applications are submitted through proper official channel by forwarding authorities

Selection Process

This is a deputation-based recruitment with no open competitive exam. Selection is based on merit and suitability:

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Only applications received through proper channel (forwarded by cadre controlling authority) will be considered
2. Merit Assessment: Based on service record, ACRs/APARs for the last five years, and overall experience relevant to the post
3. Document Verification: Cadre clearance certificate and attested copies of ACRs/APARs for last 5 years (attested by officer of Under Secretary rank or above) are required

The deputation will be for a period of up to 5 years. The lending organisation may relieve the officer for a lesser period (minimum 3 years), as per its policies.

4. Ensure the forwarding authority includes the cadre clearance certificate and attested copies of ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years

• Handle procurement processes including RFP preparation, vendor evaluation, and contract management for ICT projects
• Monitor e-Governance initiatives, networking infrastructure, and system performance at the Technology Centre
• Coordinate with internal divisions and external agencies on technology deployments and upgrades
• Maintain information security standards and ensure compliance with UIDAI's data protection policies
• Prepare technical documentation, project reports, and status updates for senior management
• Assist in policy formulation and implementation for Aadhaar authentication and enrolment systems
