UIDAI Director Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post on Deputation

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is the statutory body that runs the Aadhaar programme under the Aadhaar Act, 2016. UIDAI has invited applications for one (1) Director post at its Head Office in Delhi on deputation on Foreign Service terms. Only serving officers with at least five years of government service can apply through proper channel from their parent department.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Eligibility

  • Central Government officers holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or department, OR with three years of regular service in Pay Matrix Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - Rs. 2,09,200) or above.
  • OR Officers from a State or Union Territory Government, PSU, or Autonomous Organisation holding regular posts in corresponding grades with the required experience.
  • You must have completed at least five years of government service to apply.

Equivalent Pay Scales for PSU / Bank / LIC Applicants

  • PSU (Level 13 equivalent): E-7 grade - Rs. 1,00,000 to Rs. 2,60,000 (revised)
  • Public Sector Banks: Scale-VI - Rs. 1,40,500 to Rs. 1,56,500 (revised)
  • LIC: Rs. 1,07,820 to Rs. 1,41,840

Desirable

  • A degree in law from a recognised university with experience in handling legal matters and court cases.

Age Limit

  • You must be below 56 years of age as on the closing date of application (13 July 2026).

Salary

  • You will be placed in Pay Matrix Level 13 of the 7th Central Pay Commission - Rs. 1,23,100 to Rs. 2,15,900 per month.
  • Allowances (DA, HRA, TA, etc.) as per Central Government and UIDAI rules during the deputation period.
  • Officers of the level of Director and above are provided with a vehicle for commuting.
  • Aadhaar Housing Complex at DDU Marg, New Delhi may be available for residential accommodation.
  • Medical benefits under CGHS or UIDAI's Medical Reimbursement Scheme.

Selection Process

This is a deputation post. There is no written exam. Selection is based on:

  1. Application Screening: Only applications received through proper channel with cadre clearance, ACRs/APARs for the last 5 years, and Annexure II certificate from the forwarding officer will be considered.
  2. Document Verification: Eligibility against Pay Level, age, and service criteria is verified.
  3. Selection by UIDAI: Based on suitability and experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the assigned division at UIDAI Head Office on Aadhaar policy, operations, or legal matters
  • Handle policy formulation, system design, and implementation of programmes under the Aadhaar Act, 2016
  • Manage legal matters, court cases, and litigation related to UIDAI when assigned (preferred candidates with law background)
  • Coordinate with central ministries, state governments, banks, PSUs, and Aadhaar ecosystem partners
  • Monitor compliance with the Aadhaar Act, 2016 and UIDAI regulations
  • Prepare reports, briefs, and recommendations for the senior management and Authority
  • Represent UIDAI in inter-ministerial meetings, parliamentary committees, and court proceedings when required

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Serving Central Government / State / UT / PSU / Autonomous body officer at analogous post or with 3 years regular service in Pay Matrix Level 12 (Rs. 78,800 - 2,09,200) or above, with at least 5 years of government service.

Preferred Qualification

A degree in law from a recognised university with experience in handling legal matters and court cases.

Required Skills

Policy formulation, programme management, legal matters handling, court case management, coordination with ministries and stakeholders.

Age Limit

18 - 56 years (as on 13 Jul 2026)
