The last date to apply is 6 August 2026, though your eligibility will be checked as on 29 June 2026. Salary is at Pay Level 5, ranging from Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month.

Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Accountant Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has released a circular for filling 1 Accountant post at its Regional Office in Chandigarh, on deputation (Foreign Service) basis. UIDAI is the central government body established under the Aadhaar Act, 2016 to issue Aadhaar numbers and run authentication systems for over a billion residents. This is a deputation-only opportunity — private candidates cannot apply, and only serving officers already working with the Central Government, State/UT Government, PSU, or an Autonomous Body are eligible.

If your organisation has a different pay structure than the Central Government, UIDAI has worked out an equivalent pay grade for PSUs — Level 5 in UIDAI is treated as equivalent to the Non-Executive Grade (Rs. 27,500 - 60,000, revised) in Public Sector Undertakings, so you can check your eligibility even if you are not a direct Central Government employee.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Graduate in Commerce, or Graduate in any stream with 3 years of experience in accounts-related work in a government organisation.
  • Government Experience (Central): Officers from the Central Government holding an equivalent post on regular basis, or with 3 years of regular service at Pay Level 4 (Rs. 25,500 - 81,100), or 5 years of regular service at Pay Level 3 (Rs. 21,700 - 69,100).
  • Government Experience (State/PSU): Officers from a State or UT Government, Public Sector Undertaking, or Autonomous Organisation holding a regular post in the corresponding grade with requisite experience.
  • Desirable: Basic computer skills for working in a computerized office environment.
  • Only officers who have completed at least 5 years of government service can apply — private candidates are not eligible for this deputation post.
  • Your remaining service (residual service) should be at least 3 years as on the closing date for the application.

A few important notes: UIDAI may increase or decrease the number of vacancies at its discretion, officers already holding an analogous post in the parent organisation may get preference, and once you apply for this post you cannot withdraw your candidature later.

Age Limit

  • You should be below 56 years of age as on the closing date for the application (eligibility checked as on 29 June 2026).

Salary

  • Selected officers will get a salary of Rs. 29,200 to Rs. 92,300 per month under Pay Level 5 of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
  • You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per the UIDAI (Salary, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Employees) Regulations, 2020.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Since this is a deputation appointment, there is no written exam. Selection happens through:

  1. Document Screening: UIDAI checks your qualification, experience, and eligibility against the circular requirements.
  2. Forwarding through Proper Channel: Your parent department must forward your application with cadre clearance, vigilance clearance, and APARs of the last 5 years.
  3. Preference Check: Officers already holding an analogous post are preferred, and once you apply you cannot withdraw your candidature later.
  4. Deputation Appointment: Selected officers are appointed on deputation for an initial period of 5 years (minimum 3 years), with pay, allowances and leave governed by UIDAI's deputation rules and DoPT guidelines.

You can continue availing Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) benefits from your parent organisation, or switch to UIDAI's own Medical Reimbursement Scheme during your deputation period.

This is an offline, post-based application process — there is no online portal for this deputation vacancy.
