NHM Chandigarh Dental Assistant and Pharmacist Recruitment 2026: Overview

The National Health Mission, Chandigarh (NHM Chandigarh) is hiring contractual staff for three health programmes run from the Office of the Mission Director in Sector-16. The posts sit under the National Oral Health Programme (NOHP), the AYUSH wing and the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM). This is a contract engagement, not a regular government post, and selection is through a written test rather than a walk-in interview.

Posts and Disciplines

• Dental Assistant (NOHP): the largest group in this notice, for Class 12 science candidates who hold a Dental Chair Side Assistant diploma or have worked in a dental college or dental clinic.
• Dispenser Ayurvedic (AYUSH): for holders of a degree or a two-year diploma in Ayurvedic Pharmacy who are registered with a state Ayurvedic board or council and have dispensing experience at an Ayurvedic dispensary, hospital, pharmacy or wellness centre. This post is reserved for a Scheduled Caste candidate.
• Pharmacist (NUHM): for D.Pharm or B.Pharm holders who also have a one-year Diploma in Computer Applications and registration with the UT Chandigarh Pharmacy Council.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Contract term: All posts are on contract initially up to 31 March 2027, extendable based on your performance and conduct or the duration of the programme.
• OBC claims: An OBC claim is accepted only with a certificate from the competent authority, and your community must appear in the Central list of OBCs for the UT of Chandigarh. OBC candidates must belong to the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
• Pharmacy registration: The Pharmacist post needs registration with the UT Chandigarh Pharmacy Council specifically, not just any state council.
• Vacancy changes: The Mission Director can increase or reduce the number of posts or even cancel the written test without giving a reason.
• No travel allowance: You will not get any TA/DA for appearing in the written test.
• Incomplete forms: Incomplete applications and forms that arrive late are rejected.
