TRAI, the statutory body that regulates India's telecom, broadcasting and cable services sectors, has released Vacancy Circular No. C-5/2026-27 dated 6 August 2026 for engaging 2 Associate Consultants (Technical - ECE) across various divisions at its New Delhi headquarters. Fresh graduates with no post-qualification experience are welcome to apply — this is one of the rare central government openings that does not ask for prior work experience. TRAI will also prepare a reserve panel from this drive for vacancies that come up in the near future, so even candidates not selected right away may get a call later.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor of Technology / Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent) in Electronics, Communication or Telecommunication Engineering, or a combination of these branches.
• Preferred Qualification: An additional ME/M.Tech, MBA or PhD is desirable, though not compulsory.
• Experience: No post-qualification experience is required — this post is open to fresh graduates.
• Skills: You should be a dynamic, self-motivated professional with strong analytical, technical writing and interpersonal skills, since the role involves studying telecom and broadcasting technologies and helping draft TRAI's consultation papers and recommendations.

Age Limit

• You should be below 30 years of age as on 6 August 2026, the date the vacancy circular was issued.

Salary

• You will get a fixed consolidated pay of Rs. 80,000 per month, plus a fixed Transport Allowance of Rs. 8,000 per month — a total of Rs. 88,000 per month.
• The engagement is on contract for one year from your date of joining, and may be extended based on your performance and TRAI's future requirement.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. TRAI will select Associate Consultants through the following process:

1. Screening of Applications: TRAI reviews your educational qualifications, additional qualifications and experience (if any) from your online application and uploaded documents.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview/interaction with the Selection Committee. Your final selection depends on both your qualifications and how you perform in this interview — TRAI's decision on selection is final and binding.

3. Upload self-attested copies of your date of birth proof (10th certificate, mark sheet or birth certificate).
