Tata Memorial Centre (TMC) is a premier Comprehensive Cancer Centre under the Department of Atomic Energy, Government of India, affiliated to Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI). Through this recruitment drive, TMC is hiring across 18 different positions spanning medical faculty, scientific officers, engineers, and technical staff. All posts are permanent and full-time. Who Can Apply?
For Assistant Professor 'E' Posts (Level 12 - Rs. 78,800/month):
- You need MD / DNB / M.Ch / Dr.NB in the relevant specialty, recognised by the National Medical Commission.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of post-qualification experience depending on the specialty (see notification for post-wise details).
For Consultant 'D' Posts (Level 11 - Rs. 67,700/month):
- You need MD / DNB in the relevant specialty recognised by NMC.
- Minimum 1 year post-MD/DNB experience in a Teaching Hospital.
For Engineer 'C' - Civil (Level 10 - Rs. 56,100/month):
- Full-time B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (First Class) or 3-year Diploma in Civil Engineering from an AICTE-approved institution.
- Minimum 7 years post-qualification experience in construction and maintenance of institutional buildings.
For Scientific Officer Posts (Level 8-11):
- Scientific Officer 'D' (Health Economics): Ph.D. in Health Economics / Economics / Public Health OR MD (Community Medicine) OR MBBS/BDS/BAMS/BHMS/Pharm.D with Master of Public Health.
- Scientific Officer 'SB' (Biochemistry): M.Sc. in Botany/Zoology/Chemistry/Biochemistry/Biotechnology, preferably with DMLT.
- Scientific Officer 'C' (CSSD): M.Sc. in Chemistry/Physics/Zoology/Microbiology/Biotechnology with 50% marks and 3 years of experience.
- Scientific Officer 'D' (Molecular Pathology): Ph.D in Life Science/Biotechnology/Microbiology/Genetics/Biochemistry/Zoology/Genomics with 1 year molecular techniques experience.
For Medical Physicist 'D' (Level 11 - Rs. 67,700/month):
- M.Sc. (Physics) with Diploma in Radiological Physics from BARC or equivalent AERB-approved qualification.
- 5 years experience in advanced computerized treatment planning systems.
For Technician Posts (Level 2-4):
- Technician 'C' (ICU/OT): 12th in Science plus 1-year Diploma in ICU/OT/Electronics/Dialysis Technician. 3 years experience needed.
- Technician 'C' (General Medicine): 12th in Science. 3 years experience in ECG required.
- Technician 'A' (Molecular Pathology): 10+2 in Science plus 6-month certificate or 1-year diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology. 1 year experience needed.
Age Limit
- Assistant Professor 'E' posts: Maximum 45 years as on 24 April 2026.
- Consultant 'D', Scientific Officer 'D', Medical Physicist 'D' posts: Maximum 40 years.
- Engineer 'C', Scientific Officer 'C', Scientific Officer 'SB' posts: Maximum 35 years.
- Technician 'C' posts: Maximum 30 years.
- Technician 'A' post: Maximum 27 years.
- Age Relaxation: SC/ST: 5 years, OBC: 3 years, PwBD: 10 years (additional 5 for SC/ST and 3 for OBC within PwBD), Ex-Servicemen: length of service in Armed Forces plus 3 years. TMC employees get up to 5 years relaxation.
Salary
- Level 12 (Assistant Professor 'E'): Rs. 78,800 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- Level 11 (Consultant 'D', Scientific Officer 'D', Medical Physicist 'D'): Rs. 67,700 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- Level 10 (Engineer 'C', Scientific Officer 'C'): Rs. 56,100 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- Level 8 (Scientific Officer 'SB'): Rs. 47,600 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- Level 4 (Technician 'C'): Rs. 25,500 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- Level 2 (Technician 'A'): Rs. 19,900 per month (entry pay) plus allowances.
- You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Central Government rules. Medical facility, accommodation (subject to availability), and retirement benefits are also provided.

Selection Process
The selection method depends on the post you are applying for:
- For Assistant Professor, Scientific Officer 'D', Scientific Officer 'C', and Medical Physicist posts (Sr. 1 to 11, 13, 14 & 15): Selection through Interview only. No written exam.
- For Scientific Officer 'SB' - Biochemistry (Sr. 12): Written Examination (100 marks, MCQ) followed by Interview. Questions will be based on your area of specialization.
- For Technician posts (Sr. 16 to 18): Written Examination (100 marks, MCQ) followed by Skill Test (qualifying nature only). Questions and skill test will be based on your area of expertise.
- Document Verification: You must carry original documents along with one set of photocopies at the time of interview/exam.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical care and treatment to cancer patients in the assigned department
- Conduct research in oncology and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Train and mentor junior residents, fellows, and medical students
- Perform diagnostic procedures, surgeries, and technical work as per the assigned specialty
- Manage laboratory operations, equipment calibration, and quality assurance processes
- Prepare medical reports, maintain patient records, and follow institutional protocols
- Participate in academic conferences, workshops, and continuing medical education programs
- Handle administrative responsibilities and contribute to departmental planning

Exam Pattern
The written examination applies only to Scientific Officer 'SB' (Biochemistry) and Technician posts. Other posts are selected through interview only.
For Scientific Officer 'SB' (Biochemistry) - Post Sr. 12:
- Total Marks: 100
- Question Type: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Syllabus: Questions will be based on the area of specialization and expertise in Biochemistry.
- Followed by Interview for shortlisted candidates.
For Technician Posts (Sr. 16, 17 & 18):
- Total Marks: 100
- Question Type: MCQ (Multiple Choice Questions)
- Syllabus: Questions and Skill Test will be based on the respective area of specialization and expertise.
- Skill Test: Qualifying in nature only (you need to pass it, but marks are not counted for final merit).
