BRIC-THSTI (Translational Health Science and Technology Institute) is hiring one Project Research Scientist-I for a vaccine research project at its Faridabad campus in Haryana. The Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) is an institute of the Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. It carries out translational health research and works with academia and industry to turn ideas into products that improve human health. Under Recruitment Notice THS/RN/11/2026, THSTI is filling one Project Research Scientist-I post on a purely temporary, project basis.

THSTI is part of the National Capital Region (NCR) Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad and hosts several research centres, including the Centre for Virus Research, Therapeutics and Vaccines, the Centre for Immunobiology and Immunotherapy, the Centre for Drug Discovery and the Centre for Bio-design and Diagnostics. These centres are backed by strong core facilities such as a Bioassay Laboratory, a Biorepository, a Biosafety Level-3 lab, a Multi-Omics facility and an Experimental Animal Facility, so research staff get excellent hands-on exposure.

The selected candidate will work with Principal Investigator Dr. Shailendra Mani on a project titled "Development of a Plug-and-Play vaccine platform utilizing OC43 virus backbone for rapid generation of targeted viral vaccines". In simple terms, the team is building a flexible vaccine base that can be quickly adapted to make new vaccines against different viruses. This is a strong opportunity for a fresh Post-Graduate in Life Sciences who wants hands-on experience in virology and vaccine development. Because the post is filled through a walk-in interview, there is no long online process and suitable candidates can be selected quickly.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Post-Graduation degree, including an integrated PG degree, in any branch of Life Sciences from a recognized university.
• Desirable skills: Proficiency in mammalian cell culture, virus preparation and virus neutralization assays, and generation of pseudoviruses.
• Molecular skills: Experience in gene cloning, and protein expression and purification in mammalian cells.
• Lab techniques: Familiarity with common methods like gel electrophoresis, molecular assays and serological assays.
• Work experience in a BSL-3 (Biosafety Level 3) laboratory will be preferred.
• Experience in writing research manuscripts and grant annual reports is an added advantage.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit is 35 years.
• Age relaxation for SC / ST / OBC / PwBD and other reserved categories will apply as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 56,000 per month plus HRA.
• House Rent Allowance and other project benefits are paid as per THSTI and Government of India rules for project staff.
• This is a project-linked position, so the engagement is co-terminus with the project.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. The selection is done directly through a walk-in interview.

1. Document Verification: Report at the venue with all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies.
2. Walk-in Interview: A selection committee will assess your subject knowledge, laboratory skills and research background.
