Spices Board Library Trainee Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

Spices Board, functioning under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, has released Notification No. 03/2026 dated 22 July 2026 to select one Library Trainee at its Head Office in Kochi. This post is reserved exclusively for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) candidates. A panel/rank list will also be prepared from this walk-in test to fill any future requirements. This is a training opportunity, not a regular job — it gives library science graduates practical experience at a central government office, and it cannot be regularized into a permanent position at any stage.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: You must have a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science.
  • Category: This post is open only to SC/ST candidates.
  • Note: If you have already completed training in any office of Spices Board before, you cannot apply again.

Age Limit

  • You should not be older than 30 years as on the date of the walk-in test, 5 August 2026.

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a stipend of Rs. 21,000 per month during the training period.
  • You are entitled to one day of leave per month during the training tenure.
  • The training tenure is one year from the date of joining, extendable by one more year.

Selection Process

Selection will be done through the following steps:

  1. Walk-in Test: You need to appear in person at Spices Board Head Office, Kochi on 5 August 2026 at 10:00 AM.
  2. Document Verification: Bring original certificates for identity, age, education and caste for verification, along with one set of self-attested photocopies.
  3. Rank List: A rank list of candidates from this walk-in test will be maintained for up to one year from the date of results. It will be used only to fill vacancies caused by a selected candidate not joining, resigning, or leaving the training within one year — this is not treated as a fresh vacancy, and the total number of trainees engaged will never exceed the 1 post notified here.

How to Apply

  1. Download and fill the Annexure I application form from the official notification.
  2. Attach a passport size color photograph to the filled form.
