Responsibilities
- Translate administrative and technical material between English and Hindi, and review translations done by junior translators
- Inform officers and employees about the Official Language Act and rules
- Organise Hindi workshops, provide training on noting and drafting, and prepare course materials
- Inspect progress of Hindi implementation in headquarters and regional offices
- Serve as secretary member of the Official Language Committee — organise meetings, issue agendas, prepare minutes, and follow up on action items
- Participate in Ministry's Official Language Committee meetings
- Guide and assist regional offices during Parliamentary Official Language Committee inspections
- Prepare and submit quarterly, half-yearly, and annual Hindi progress reports to the Ministry
- Compile reports on Hindi teaching plans from training institutions
- Issue instructions for employee training related to Hindi
- Organise meetings of regional and sub-regional Official Language Committees
- Handle any other work assigned by the Reporting Officer or Competent Authority
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Master's degree from a recognised university in Hindi/English with 3 years experience in translation or teaching
Preferred Qualification
Knowledge of a language other than Hindi included in the 8th Schedule of the Constitution at 10th level
Required Skills
Hindi to English and English to Hindi translation, Official Language policy knowledge, terminology work

3.0 - No limit years
Three years' experience of using/applying terminology in Hindi and translation work from English to Hindi or vice-versa (preferably technical or scientific literature), OR three years' experience of teaching in Hindi and English or research in Hindi or English, under Central/State Government/Autonomous Body/Statutory Organisations/PSUs/Universities or recognised research or educational institutions.
