About This Job

Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) is hiring 1 General Manager (IT) on a regular basis for its S&T/IT Department. You will be posted at the Corporate Office in New Delhi. The pay scale is Rs. 1,20,000 to Rs. 2,80,000 (IDA) plus allowances. This is a senior leadership role in a Navratna Central PSU under the Ministry of Railways. The final list of eligible candidates has been published, and interviews will be scheduled soon.

RVNL General Manager (IT) Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

RVNL, a Government of India Enterprise, handles rail infrastructure, metro projects, highways, bridges, tunnels and other major projects across India and abroad. This recruitment (Advertisement No. 30/2025) is for an experienced IT professional from a Government or PSU background to lead IT operations at the corporate level. The role is at Grade E-8, which is one of the senior-most levels in RVNL.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (Essential)

  • B.E./B.Tech (4-year full-time) in Computer Science / Computer Engineering / Information Technology / Electronics & Communication Engineering / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Electrical Communication, or any equivalent IT discipline
  • OR MCA (Master of Computer Applications)
  • OR M.Sc. (Computer Science / IT)

Desirable Qualification

  • MBA / PG Diploma in Management (Information Systems / IT / Operations / General Management)

Experience (Essential)

  • Minimum 15 years of post-qualification experience in Government / PSU environment
  • Experience should include work in one or more of: IT infrastructure planning, cyber security, data centres, SAP/ERP systems, enterprise applications, digital transformation, e-governance systems

Grade Criteria (Essential)

  • CDA officers: Holding post in Level-14 on regular basis, OR Level-13 with minimum 17 years of Group A service
  • IDA/PSU officers: Holding post in E-8 (Rs. 1,20,000-2,80,000) on regular basis, OR E-7 (Rs. 1,00,000-2,60,000) for 4 years on regular basis

Only candidates currently working in Government Organisations / PSUs / Central Government Companies / Metro Rail Corporations on regular basis are eligible. Private sector candidates are not eligible.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 57 years as on the closing date of the original advertisement (27.01.2026)

Salary

  • Pay Scale (IDA): Rs. 1,20,000 - Rs. 2,80,000 per month plus applicable allowances
  • Additional benefits: Perks, Lease/HRA, Medical benefits, EPF, Gratuity as per company rules
  • Service Bond: Rs. 8 Lakhs for a minimum period of 3 years

Responsibilities

  • Lead IT infrastructure planning, implementation and management across RVNL's corporate office and project sites
  • Manage cyber security operations, data centre facilities and network infrastructure for the organization
  • Handle SAP/ERP systems administration, upgrades and user support for smooth business operations
  • Prepare IT strategy and digital transformation roadmap aligned with RVNL's business goals and government guidelines
  • Monitor enterprise application development, deployment and maintenance across all departments
  • Work with vendors and service providers for IT procurement, contracts and service-level management
  • Assist in implementing e-governance initiatives and ensure compliance with government IT policies and standards
  • Follow MeitY guidelines, cyber security frameworks and IT audit requirements for a Navratna PSU

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

B.E./B.Tech in CS/IT/ECE or MCA or M.Sc (CS/IT) from recognized university

Preferred Qualification

MBA / PG Diploma in Management (Information Systems / IT / Operations / General Management)

Experience

Minimum 15 years post-qualification experience in Government/PSU. Must hold CDA Level-14 or Level-13 with 17 years Group A service, OR IDA E-8 or E-7 with 4 years on regular basis.
