RITES Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, is a premier multi-disciplinary consultancy organization working in transport, infrastructure, and related technologies across India and abroad. The company has released a notification for 16 Civil Engineering posts to be deployed at a client project site in Kerala. The recruitment covers three roles — Resident Engineer, Quality Engineer, and Field Engineer — each requiring a different level of post-qualification experience in roads, bridges, or building construction. Selection is based entirely on Interview — there is no written exam for these posts, which makes this a fast-track opportunity for experienced civil engineers. Since this is a contract engagement, RITES will call shortlisted candidates for empanelment and place them against the client requirement in order of merit.

Who Can Apply?

Resident Engineer (Civil) — CL/04/26:

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 8 years of post-qualification experience in Roads, Bridges, or Buildings

Quality Engineer (Civil) — CL/05/26:

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of post-qualification experience in Roads, Bridges, or Buildings

Field Engineer (Civil) — CL/06/26:

• Qualification: Full-time Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
• Experience: Minimum 2 years of post-qualification experience in Roads, Bridges, or Buildings

Your degree must be recognized by AICTE and awarded by a university or institution set up by an Act of Parliament or state legislature. Training, internship, teaching, or PhD research experience will not be counted towards your post-qualification experience. If you cleared Sections A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) examination, with enrolment on or before 31 May 2013, this is also treated as equivalent to a degree by the Government of India and recognized by AICTE.

If you have a Locomotor Disability (including Orthopedically Handicapped, One Arm, One Leg, Leprosy Cured, or Acid Attack Victim) or a Hearing Impairment, you can also apply under the PwBD category for posts identified suitable for these disabilities, even if no vacancy is specifically reserved for you — such applications are then considered on general standard of merit.

Age Limit

• The upper age limit for all three posts is 55 years, reckoned as on the last date of application, 30 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC-NCL candidates get 3 years, Ex-Servicemen get service years rendered plus 3 years, and J&K Domicile candidates get 5 years.
• PwBD: Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get 10 years relaxation in addition to their category relaxation, for posts identified suitable for PwBD.

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Document Scrutiny/Verification: Your eligibility will be checked against the post you applied for.
2. Interview: 100% weightage — Technical & Professional proficiency (65%) and Personality, Communication & Competency (35%). There is no minimum qualifying marks required.
3. Medical Examination: You must be found medically fit as per RITES rules and standards.

You can choose to appear for the interview in Hindi or English. Interviews will be held at RITES' Gurugram office or at RITES' Thiruvananthapuram office.

After the interview, RITES will prepare a merit list category-wise (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwBD) and upload it on the RITES website. Your CV will then be shared with the client for approval, in order of merit, against the number of vacancies. If your CV is approved by the client, you will receive an offer of engagement. Marks scored in the empanelment process are used only for empanelment — your final engagement depends on the client's approval of your CV.

The engagement is on a contract basis for one year, extendable until the project is completed, subject to mutual consent and satisfactory performance. As a selected candidate, you should be ready for posting anywhere in India as per company requirements, though this particular recruitment drive is for deployment at a client site in Kerala.
