The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an autonomous institution under the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, has released Advertisement No. 22/Project/2026/HR for the recruitment of one Project Associate-II and one Senior Project Associate under Principal Investigator Dr. C.V. Srikanth. Both positions are attached to a research project studying gut inflammation, microbial pathogenesis and host immunity at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster, Faridabad — a hub that also houses several other national biotechnology institutes, giving researchers here strong exposure to collaborative science. In simple terms, the project looks at how certain molecules produced by disease-causing microbes affect gut health and the body's immune response, which can eventually help in developing better treatments for gut infections. Selection is through an online interview only — there is no written exam — making this a quick route into a funded biotechnology research project for life science graduates and postgraduates. The position is initially for 1 year and may be extended based on your annual performance evaluation, for the full duration of the project.

Who Can Apply?

For Project Associate-II (1 Post):

• Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc, OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine from a recognized university
• At least 2 years' experience in research and development in industrial/academic institutions or science and technology organizations
• Desirable: experience handling microbes, gut pathogens, murine models of colitis, cell culture, human patient specimen handling, inflammation-related assays, and molecular biology techniques (gene cloning, confocal microscopy, mass-spectrometry)

For Senior Project Associate (1 Post):

• Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences / MVSc, OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering / Technology / Medicine, with 4 years' experience in research and development, OR a Doctoral Degree in Science / Engineering / Technology / Pharma / MD / MS
• Desirable: experience handling gut pathogens, murine models of colitis, cell culture, inflammation-related human assays, protein purification, computational analysis of biological data, and molecular biology techniques

Since there is no written exam, your interview will focus on your research background — so be ready to discuss your past project work, publications and hands-on lab experience related to the desirable skills listed above.

Salary

• Project Associate-II: Rs. 28,000 per month + 27% HRA (Non-NET/GATE), or Rs. 35,000 per month + 27% HRA if you are NET/GATE or equivalent national-level exam qualified
• Senior Project Associate: Rs. 42,000 per month + 27% HRA

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written test for these posts. Selection is done through:
