The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB) is an Institution of National Importance set up by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India, at the NCR Biotech Science Cluster in Faridabad, Haryana. RCB works at the interface of biotechnology education, training, and multidisciplinary research. Under Advertisement No. 27/Project/2026/HR, RCB is recruiting a Field Assistant for the project "Designing a climate-resilient rice variety for direct-seeded cultivation using CRISPR-based approaches," led by Investigator Dr. Ramu S. Vemanna, Associate Professor. Direct-seeded rice cultivation uses far less water than traditional transplanted rice, and this project studies how gene-edited rice varieties perform under real field conditions — the Field Assistant plays a hands-on role in collecting the plot-level data that makes this research possible. The position is initially for one year, extendable for one more year based on your performance. No written exam is required — selection is through an online interview, so this is a good entry-level opportunity for graduates and diploma holders interested in agricultural field research.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Bachelor's degree (B.Sc./B.Tech.) or Diploma in Agriculture, Life Sciences, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge: You should understand field experiments and agricultural practices, including how experimental plots are laid out and monitored.
• Preferred: Experience handling field trials, crop management, and soil sampling; familiarity with greenhouse work, irrigation practices, and fertilizer application; exposure to basic lab techniques such as sample preparation, weighing, and data recording.
