Preparation Tips for PSSSB Excise Inspector Exam

  • Clear Part A first: The Punjabi qualifying paper needs at least 50% marks. If you fail Part A, your Part B won't even be evaluated. Practice Punjabi grammar and comprehension thoroughly.
  • Focus on high-weight subjects: General Knowledge (25 marks) and Reasoning (25 marks) carry the most weight in Part B. These two subjects alone make up half your merit score.
  • Punjab History is unique: 17 questions on Punjab History and Culture is something you won't find in other competitive exams. Study Punjab's freedom movement, Sikh history, folk culture, and important personalities.
  • Time management: You get 150 minutes for 150 questions (Part A + Part B combined) — that's exactly 1 minute per question. Practice with a timer to build speed.
  • Be smart about negative marking: With 0.25 marks deducted per wrong answer in Part B, skip questions you are not sure about. Only attempt a question if you can eliminate at least 2 options.
  • Take mock tests: Take at least 5-10 full-length mock tests before the exam to improve your speed and accuracy.
